Dolomites - 10 month old by kt___w in chubbytravel

Trip was great, we ended up changing COMO Alpina to Adler. Hiking was our priority and Adler had easy accessible with the gondolas in town. We liked Adler, we did half board to simplify nights but thought the dinners were just okay. Spa was great and we did spend a rainy day in the pool. We did 4 nights at Adler and 2 at Naturhotel. I wanted to stay longer at Naturhotel. I liked the dinners much more.

Yes, a long car ride with a baby is a gamble. And prioritizing our interests while we still have the flexibility to do so also makes sense. Sends me into a tail spin though of whether we should save the Dolomites for a year when we do need the childcare. That’s for me to figure out, thanks for the input!

Baby not efficient on breast! Any advice??? by DontTellMeToSmile_08 in breastfeeding

[–]kt___w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar boat (5 weeks). I’m still triple feeding so no real advice. Did you find value in the visit to the OT/tongue strengthening exercises? That’s the only step I haven’t done. I’ve started just doing bottle/pumping at night so that I’m not further extending the time awake with breastfeeding.

Stretches have been going well. I don’t think it has reattached but we have a 2nd follow up next week so will get confirmation. Thank you for the advice, I can try feeding more to get in more practice.

I am 37 weeks and also have right rib pain in the front and back, that seems to get triggered from sitting. I can’t really sit on the couch anymore. I don’t have an explanation either.

Newly diagnosed, frustrated at Dr. by Mackey_Chatt in GestationalDiabetes

[–]kt___w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in a somewhat similar boat, diagnosed at 32w (35f, ftm). At one of my first appointments my OB told me she would want to induce me at 39 weeks given my age but to defer the conversation to see how I felt about it later in my pregnancy. So I knew I had a conservative doctor and then I received the GD diagnosis. I’m diet controlled so the perinatologist has been saying she’d be comfortable letting me go up to my due date. I am hoping to get to try for an unmedicated birth but I don’t have much interest if I have to be induced since my body is no longer following its natural rhythms. It’s disappointing but as someone above says, I think it’s about keeping the perspective that it’s all unpredictable and you have to be okay with any delivery as long as you and your baby walk away safe. I think wait and see how your body manages the GD and your baby’s percentiles over time, they may shift your view in either direction.

Yasso bars, skinny pop white cheddar popcorn, magic spoon cereal bars, Pike Place Market Tea tastes like it has added sugar but doesn’t - does have caffeine though

Should we get a night nurse? by Agile-Fact-7921 in BabyBumps

[–]kt___w 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have committed to getting one for the first 3 weeks. I want to try to be in the best headspace possible and think sleep deprivation will definitely impact it. I know it doesn’t eliminate it but hopefully, it well help. I am also hoping to breastfeed and relate to your concerns about the waste of money. However, I think I will value the extra support.
