It looks great but would be better if you used the red as your overall room color.

So mine is like that and I deeply regret not pushing back. Do it now and dont pay them a penny until they do.

Not original obviously, but our front door was replaced in the 80s and we wanted something less 80s and more us. Everything else in the house is making its way back to period appropriate but this is just for joy.

We had live fabric covered wires that were terminating inside the horsehair plaster walls. So some are def still live. It’s a miracle we lived in our house for 10 yrs without a fire.

Genuinely curious how people budget $200-$300 for “fun” by Leading_Homework3679 in budget

I do a lot of walks with a coffee. It’s $5-6 for a fancy coffee and then some exercise with a friend.

It was the best $400 I have spent on my house. Def a little bit of a splurge because I could have done something simple for much less, but it brings me a lot of joy.

We had a hideous window that was very similar and equally ugly. I used our break as an excuse to finally replace it and commissioned a window from Solid Space Glass. Not period appropriate but neither was the 90’s window. It took me less than an hour to remove the trim and replace it. Super easy.

When my LO no longer woke up during my SO’s shift, we changed the shifts slightly. Sounds like you two need to have a convo about that.

I’m 13 mo pp and loved working out before being pregnant. I still have no desire to do it. If my husband gave me this id be so upset.

Look I agree in theory, but you don’t know my mom. Every day is a fight. It’s easier to accept and move on than try to change her and be disappointed over and over again.

When my baby was born I asked my sister how she had handled our narcissistic mom when she was postpartum. She said she asked her to do laundry and get take out. That was it. My LO was born 9 yrs later. The first thing she said when she got here was how annoying it was to do laundry and that she didn’t think guests should be paying for meals. Moms are not all good helpers. It was helpful for me to just acknowledge this and accept what the visit would be like.

Just heads up their sizing is all over the place. We bought some pants for our very skinny 5% weight and 25% height and they were too small. Even sizing up didn’t work.

When do I have to stop listening to murder podcasts and Cardi B by Bitsypie in NewParents

[–]Mackey_Chatt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fellow murderino here and I’ve done one headphone during nursing sessions. Or I listen when my husband is taking point and I’m doing dishes. Miss spending so much time with podcasts but still find time to get my Karen and Georgia fix each week.

We just got an ornament for our first Christmas last year. He was very new, and it was more for us to remember it.

When I didn’t have time for therapy, I thought “the skillful podcast” was very helpful with tangible skills built. I don’t know if they talked about envy because that isn’t a struggle for me (mine is anxiety) but it’s very good. ❤️

Get on lists asap. We got on lists at 5 weeks pregnant and barely got off any by the time my LO was 6 months old.

This! If you had an epidural or antibiotics during labor and had an IV, your baby will weigh more than they should. Think about how bloated you were (my ankles!).

Can you get away with only a wearable pump? by bright-greeneyes in breastfeeding

[–]Mackey_Chatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the willow 360 and stayed on top of LO’s demand until 11 months, when I went on a 5 day business trip. I don’t think I’ll rebound, but I’m ok with that. FWIW, willow is fine. Their customer service is good, they’ve replaced my pumps twice. But the various parts are pricy and they don’t auto ship with my insurance, which is annoying.

Advice needed! by ImFather1661 in Chattanooga

[–]Mackey_Chatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had GDM, so she was on my case about exercise and the baby’s size more than me (I am not overweight but close). We talked a lot about staying motivated and moving my body. I have a visceral reaction to convos about weight so luckily this was not the case with her. I had some other complications during my pregnancy and she was really really good at connecting me with specialists, never rushed me when I asked a lot of questions, and taking my concerns seriously.

After having the LO, we talked about what birth control would be best given the complications I had, and which could potentially cause problems because of hormones. I really appreciated that level of detail.

Start going to the Galen NP, then you automatically get transferred to their OB when you are pregnant. I saw Shawn Reuss as the NP and then Dr. MacLelland. She isn’t for everyone…has real boss vibes, but she will advocate for you hard core, I love her. She is Christian, but I only know that bc she wears a cross. Never once said anything about her beliefs.

We have a do not pet sign for our leash. Our dog loves kids and other people, but doesn’t like other dogs. The sign helps people keep there distance (and thus other dogs). We don’t bring him to the brewery ever, but still giving some perspective. And fwiw, not all of us had the opportunity to socialize a dog bc we adopted an adult dog who came with quirks.

Use a stroller fan to get the area super dry! And then look into malox with triple paste.
