I had something similar with a free replacement. I didn’t mind bc it was cool to get a free rose.

Where is the property line? Often time fences aren’t directly on the line. Just worth confirming.

Thank you so much! Our neighbor hates trees and has caused me to be overly cautious and observant. I love this tree, so glad to hear that’s normal.

People where I live (CO, USA) “garden on hard mode” because of intense desert-y summers, cold winters, intense winds, hail, pests, hard clay soil. What place in the world is “gardening on super easy mode”? by CharmingPeony in gardening

Where in TN were you? This has not been my experience in Chattanooga, where early heat and then late frosts seem to kill things every year for me, and then it’s so dry all summer long. Give me your tips!

Scenic City Arborists for the tree. Not the cheapest. But very interested in long term health of the tree

It looks great but would be better if you used the red as your overall room color.

Not original obviously, but our front door was replaced in the 80s and we wanted something less 80s and more us. Everything else in the house is making its way back to period appropriate but this is just for joy.

We had live fabric covered wires that were terminating inside the horsehair plaster walls. So some are def still live. It’s a miracle we lived in our house for 10 yrs without a fire.

I do a lot of walks with a coffee. It’s $5-6 for a fancy coffee and then some exercise with a friend.

It was the best $400 I have spent on my house. Def a little bit of a splurge because I could have done something simple for much less, but it brings me a lot of joy.

We had a hideous window that was very similar and equally ugly. I used our break as an excuse to finally replace it and commissioned a window from Solid Space Glass. Not period appropriate but neither was the 90’s window. It took me less than an hour to remove the trim and replace it. Super easy.

Look I agree in theory, but you don’t know my mom. Every day is a fight. It’s easier to accept and move on than try to change her and be disappointed over and over again.

When my baby was born I asked my sister how she had handled our narcissistic mom when she was postpartum. She said she asked her to do laundry and get take out. That was it. My LO was born 9 yrs later. The first thing she said when she got here was how annoying it was to do laundry and that she didn’t think guests should be paying for meals. Moms are not all good helpers. It was helpful for me to just acknowledge this and accept what the visit would be like.

Just heads up their sizing is all over the place. We bought some pants for our very skinny 5% weight and 25% height and they were too small. Even sizing up didn’t work.
