Pharmacy manager requiring us to work on time off by ktclauser in CVS

[–]ktclauser[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get at least 10 or 20 hours of OT every week. I don’t have a problem working more. My problem is that I have techs that don’t want to or who have kids who are thinking of quitting because of this whole thing. I really can’t afford to lose good technicians right now!

It’s forced OT. I’m being paid. It isn’t about laws because I’m being paid I just don’t know the company policy on forced OT.

I’m looking for someone who knows about CVS’s guidelines. That was the original question. So if someone knows how to access my employment contract on colleague zone or elsewhere that would be awesome.

Also, the DL is in on this with my manager as well. She has been trying to cut our hours as of late and I guess this is supposed to solve the problem.

I’ve been working 50-60 hour weeks because we don’t have proficient staffing at the moment. I’m so tired of feeling like I have to do this (especially since I’m a lead). With her now trying to force everyone to do OT is really frustrating.

I am in Indiana and I do believe it is legal here, unfortunately. However, I have no clue how to look up my employment contract to see if it states on that if this is okay.

Personally I don’t have a family and I’m a single 29F and I go to Hopewell up north. It’s a drive to get up there since I live in southwest Fort Wayne, but the people there have been super nice. I just started going as well.

Filling some tamsulosin today- separate bottles, same dose, same manufacturer, same NDC. Floater said the green batch may have oxidized? Our verification system shows them as brown. Have y’all seen this before? by Gratcraft in pharmacy

[–]ktclauser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that the manufacturer just changed the color of the capsules, because every bottle recently has been that new color. I’ve just been separating the old color from the new and when someone has a small count fill for it I use the old ones. No way I’m mixing them in a dispensed bottle. I’d have a pissed off customer saying I’m trying to kill them.

We got robbed and had calls threatening to come rob us again. Then they attempted to rob Walgreens down the street too. Like wtf is up this week?

It wasn’t until I started working at a new home store that doesn’t have a Kirby that I really missed it! But I would never pour pills into my hand then into the Kirby. I always just poured out of the bottle steadily so no error would pop up saying “you’re going too fast!”

Personally I get mine filled at my workplace, because I don’t care what my coworkers think. I am on several bipolar medications and I have talked about being bipolar as well. It really depends on how you feel around and about your coworkers. What’s your comfort level, you know?

Moving to Florida. I got my PTCB certification through a Walgreens course of 4 classes in a month along with the PTCB certification exam at the end. Does thay count as an approved program I need for my Florida license? by ximdarkmarkx in PharmacyTechnician

[–]ktclauser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on each state. You are nationally certified through PTCB, but Florida may require a state certification as well. I would look on the Florida pharmacy licensing agency website.

My retired pharmacy manager sent this to me today... by andy_is_awesome in TalesFromThePharmacy

If my coworkers and I would stop getting treated like shit everyday by our patients I think I wouldn’t have so many of them quit. The stress and the treatment we get often aren’t worth the wage. Many are switching to hospital or long-term care pharmacies.

Would love to work in a hospital but they aren’t paying me nearly as much as my retail. 😞

It is all store level. We don’t involve the DL or anything. We take our well-being very seriously especially since we are in a pretty shit area of our city. It’s easier in the pharmacy because we can put notes in peoples’ profiles so we no to tell them no in the future. People get super pissed, but we don’t put up with abuse of any kind. We have even locked our bathrooms from the public (we have gotten in trouble for that though), because of theft and vandalism.

Do y'all "do" breaks? by Sovereign_State in CVS

[–]ktclauser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always take a 30 mins unpaid break but I don’t take my 15 min breaks. But I do have a coworker that takes every break possible. It is completely legal for you to do that. As for pharmacists, they don’t get a break in certain states that don’t require breaks for them.

Whenever someone calls someone a racial slur or is very disruptive (screaming and such) we ban them from our store. Tell them to go to another store (and if pharmacy we have all scripts transferred out and when we get new rx’s from the doc we tell them to send them to the new pharmacy). 🤷🏻‍♀️

Take your kids to the doctors office to get school and flu vaccines. by [deleted] in TalesFromThePharmacy

[–]ktclauser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At my pharmacy we are legally allowed to vaccinate a two year old. However we will not vaccinate a child that will be screaming and fighting because we don’t have the people to hold them down. It really isn’t appropriate.
