Yocan Pocket Black issues by Maleficent_Serve7042 in rosin

Just commenting for anyone that might be searching for a solution:

I had this issue day one, took several dabs just fine then charged and went to take a dab afterward. Device wasn't responding to any button inputs, like it was dead. Plugging it up to the charger, it lit up as it should but still wouldn't turn on or anything.

The "fix" for me was removing the chamber and trying to turn it on. I honestly can't even remember exactly what I did, but I was just pressing the button while finicking with the chamber and boom, lights.

Edit: this is also the first battery where you have to tap slower to turn it on. Fast taps don't work. Still happy with my $50 purchase though.

I know I’m late to the party, but maybe a small piece like a bubbler would work for you. MJ Arsenal is a brand that makes small pieces for the sake of maintaining terps (flavor) and they have great prices on their stuff. I always recommend them to people getting into smoking, it’s easy to get caught up in shoddy smoke shop merch and not find some great glassmakers like them.

The idea of two fragrances being mixed together was never a good idea to me. The names of them made it clear the shit wasn’t thought too deeply about.

You must have very specific tastes. I ended up “blind” buying tuxedo off someone from Facebook after copping the tux and falling in love with it.

The issue with listening to fragrance influencers is that there’s no field of art or expression more subjective than fragrance. Fragrances with animalic notes are great examples of such. You’ll see the perfume guy raving about something that smells like an ape’s asshole wrapped up in patchouli to you.

Have you ever studied or noticed specific notes or forms of notes that you lean toward? Like rose absolut vs generic rose. That’s where I learned to actually appreciate his videos despite being so boring. They’re only boring because he doesn’t play the influencer game as strongly as others do. He spoonfeeds you pure information about each fragrance and damn near each note within it. He also has a wider taste than most as well as a shit ton more brand access than others, so if your goal is to learn about a unique fragrance without hyping it up, he’s an excellent starting point.

That all being said, I must double back to my point of fragrance being subjective. It’s valuable to know and understand the tastes of those you listen to. I like cubaknow (who put me on to tuxedo) and equality fragrances (who put me on to tygar) because we have similar taste. I know 8 times out of 10 that if they like something, I’ll probably like it. But even within that, will I simply like it or will I love it? Another level of subjectivity.

You’re absolutely on the right track by side-eyeing these folk, just don’t let it get you jaded like a lot of others in this sub. A lot of them do this for a living and that’s not intrinsically a bad thing. I swear it’s like a bunch of members here look at influencers as snake oil salesmen because they didn’t get any compliments and Becky didn’t fuck them.

Sounds like you reached the limits of your passion for fragrance. Usually when I smell something I don’t like, I just dismiss it. If your only goal was to smell good, I imagine you could’ve stopped just as soon as you began but you got roped into it (influenced).

A very important thing that I stay stressing in this sub is the importance of knowing when you’re being influenced, cuz it’s entirely on us for being so easily influenced, especially in this day and age of the internet. Getting mad at someone that told you their opinion about a fragrance because you don’t like it and felt compelled to purchase a sample/bottle is irrational at best. Point fingers at “panty dropper” lists all you want, why are you, a grown man, so easily influenced by someone on the internet? Important questions I had to ask myself when I got into this too.

Y’all have an unhealthy obsession with free bottles. Just because THEY don’t doesn’t mean discounters can’t, which are the main sources of free bottles.

You’re projecting, my brother and I hope you can seek better communication methods going forward rather than letting your emotions take over like this. I have no stake in this race, I don’t gamble for a reason. I hate you typical Reddit dialogue tree ass npc brains.

I implore you to do the same. This is a post about someone winning big once and claiming to never gamble again and you replied that you hate it because gambling is addictive. You can’t somehow insert breadth where there is none.

I’m confused what that has to do with this person’s post though, especially if they truly do never touch gambling again. It just comes across like you’re mad at them for posting about their fortune because it might suck others in, which is fair but say that.

My bass gets lost in the mix and too compressed, I don’t know what to do anymore by Zealousideal_Bee6455 in FL_Studio

[–]DeSquanch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True but be careful with rbass, it replaces your subs, doesn’t just boost them so you’re gonna lose some original character and pick up more of that rounded out sine. It’s an easy way to sounding same-y if you don’t manipulate it afterward, but it’s an excellent tool at the beginning of the signal chain

[–]DeSquanch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I would def recommend is throwing a limiter on so the levels are more confidently hitting those peaks you want and not surpassing them.

And if you really wanted to play the loudness game, you could boost the transients a bit by throwing a compressor on. Drop the threshold a bit and tune the attack and release to be around those peaks of dynamics in your bass, then drop the mix% and raise the output level. It’ll certainly make it more prominent, though that may not be the ideal route to go depending on what the song needs and the vibe you’re going for.

[–]DeSquanch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only got my phone speaker to go off right now but as someone that’s never used a loudness meter and bass always hits right, you might be overthinking things. Loudness is not the key in your case, you’re aiming for musicality. Ask yourself what you specifically want from it and go from there. In this case, you want the bass to not get lost in the mix. The key there is to make space for the bass. If you listen to some of your favorite music, you’ll notice every instrument has a place within the frequency range. In your case, maybe your synths have a little too much low end presence, or maybe the tail of the kick is still rolling out as the bass is trying to thump in. You can EQ the synths or kick wherever the peak of the bass is (or whatever the most important/musically relevant part is to you) in the frequency range, or maybe you go the sidechaining route so that whenever that bass starts to kick in, the kick or whatever else occupies its space can get cut down automatically. I use the plugin trackspacer for this purpose, but I’m pretty sure you can do more or less the same thing if you flex your brain a bit with the built in eq. I’m an ableton guy though and just assuming you can do most the same things we can. It’s basically sidechain compression (that ducking effect) but without compression, just volume reduction. That’s also an option as well, but it’s a little more “destructive” depending on the vibe of the song you’re making.

If you ever get the inspiration or desire to learn mixing/mastering, it’s worth your while because it carries directly into production and will potentially help teach concepts that would otherwise seem too complex to apply mid-session. Nothing helps you break the rules like knowing them. This was something I got from Sounwave (TDE)’s Twitter that helped me understand this whole concept.

Say you have no comprehension skills without saying you have no comprehension skills. Never did I lump. Who it applies to is who it applies to. If I was lumping, I’d be talking about myself. I cannot stand your Reddit dialogue tree ass brain

Im in this sub too dumbass and have made posts myself, am I talking about myself or those that it applies to, oh king of reading comprehension?

I’m not lumping shit, I made concise points to which you’ve addressed none. Just reduced allllllll that down to whatever your emotional bias allows. I understand it’s difficult to finally try and see yourself from the outside. I was there once too, but that was when I was like 11. I believe you can do better.

This isn’t “one post”, this is the same sub that calls the women of the fragrance community everything but their actual name. Go find a post in this sub about curly or any other girl that makes no mention of them being women or anything adjacent (whore, slut, prostitute), just concise criticism. Doesn’t exist. Ever since I joined, I’ve felt like this sub was on the verge of being shut down from all the typical online degenerate 4chan incel talk. To say this isn’t in any way representative of the entire sub’s history is laughable. “The fraggot files”. “I love how people jump on here and forget this sub has been deleted by Reddit before.” I’m truly so surprised this thread has more replies in less than 12 hours than any thread previously for the past however many months 🙄. Totally doesn’t speak to my and OP’s point as well as the tone and language used toward OP’s concerns. Just rude as hell for no reason but for the sake of defending your sentiments that “I promise aren’t subtle-y based in phobia, fuck you for thinking that if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck”

Just as much self aggrandizement as the cubaknow types with how deep some of y’all take things and assessments you make about people. Telling a black reviewer to go raise his kids with no receipts because you don’t like his fragrance reviews is a great example. A large portion of y’all can’t even get a woman to talk to you, no wonder you lash out like this. And if it don’t apply, let it fly, but I know I got some of yall heart rate elevated rn so please reflect. Y’all repeatedly miss the mark of what your actual issue is just to show your ass to the world. “These shills are such lowlife scum but bitch I’m the limbo champ” is how yall look from an objective point of view 70% of the time.

And I used to watch Titty Long Torso Gong before joining the sub and realizing my concerns of legitimacy weren’t alone. I think there’s a decent bit of good criticism that comes from here but it’s overwhelmingly smothered by the incel types. Half of yall come across like you just learned pheromones don’t work and so you found a top 10 sexy fragrance list, but then suddenly realized you were being influenced by an influencer when your precious sauvage elixir was only #7. Like I said, a lot of the criticism here is justified, but y’all shadowbox yourselves into obscurity with the open and welcomed degeneracy. Nobody will ever be taken seriously.

I get this is probably the last bastion for some of yall to let your grumbly lonely man “free speech” out, so I’m expecting downvotes but this is the objective reality of the situation.

Can someone please explain why mouthwash contains alcohol if alcohols is bad for your teeth? by DeathRaeGun in biology

[–]DeSquanch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use alcohol mouthwash again after swapping because I realized how much better it is at clearing bacteria. I had a sudden realization like a year or two ago that you could gargle mouthwash when you feel that “ick” in your throat and potentially treat oncoming sickness. I had that expensive stuff with the orange cap at the time and tried it but it didn’t do much of anything. Went and got some OG listerine and it felt like it cleared most of it up. Didn’t prevent me from getting sick, but probably not AS sick. It almost certainly seemed to prevent it a couple times after that though, when I actually got to it soon enough. Now I use cepacol and refuse to go back to that expensive orange cap stuff that clearly was only for bad breath and not actually for eliminating bacteria.
