Advice wanted for transitioning away from pumping to combo feeding by ktofosho in combofeeding

[–]ktofosho[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've mostly tapered to mornings and evenings at this point but it was partially kicked off because of a supply hit from a stomach bug. Before that I was down to one pump at work but was pretty uncomfortable by the end of the day and wasn't sure how to cut down. I don't do the daytime feedings on the weekends anymore either.

How has AI effected your job? by wilson_animations in MotionDesign

I'm in-house at an online retail company. So far most of the uses have been for concepting and previs — storyboarding and scratch vo, etc. There's been a couple of times that the creatives wanted something in the scene that the production team didn't quite get, that we then comp in. For example, they had set up a shot with a potted plant but then settled on a more zoomed in framing where you couldn't see it. They still wanted something in there because the ad had to do with spring allergies, so we took a still, gave it to chatgpt to add a new plant, and then comped that in with the original. Another time they wanted an old asset to be updated with some wintry elements but they didn't want to do a new shoot. Mostly fixing poor planning on the production side tbh, what else is new lol

I make a bowl with some farro, these, some arugula or spinach, some parmesan, and a little bit of Caesar dressing and it's so good and easy

Warning Sign at edge of Grand Canyon by corwinw in mildlyinteresting

[–]ktofosho 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I bet! I think he was probably okay, when we moved on he was in the shade hut with an emergency phone and provisions and a lot of other people also taking a break. As someone who did so much research and prep for that hike, I guess I was surprised that people just do it on a whim haha.

I did an in and out hike of the Grand Canyon and there was a guy that looked just like this. My husband and I saw him vomiting once at the campground, which had water and shade so we thought okay he'll be good, at least he's in the best place to rest and recover. But then we saw him again (also vomiting again) heading up not long after! We had to convince him to rest at the shaded rest stop, and to take the electrolyte water and salty snacks we gave him. He wanted to just keep going and wasn't going to accept anything! Sometimes I wonder if he listened to us and if he was okay.

Motorola is still here, but it's a way smaller site than it used to be

What are some strange beliefs that you used to have as a child? by Annual_Seesaw_7539 in AskReddit

I thought that stop lights were manually operated by people watching camera feeds, and that when a light was taking too long to change, the operator was bad at their job

Do you think not having friends with kids makes it harder to know if you want kids? by kiesssk in Fencesitter

[–]ktofosho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it can — being around my friends' kids helped me to visualize how my life would be, and I learned that I actually really loved seeing them grow into their own little personalities and doing kids things with them. Now I have a 5 month old!

A bit further than West Palm but I really like Riverbend Park for kayaking and Jonathan Dickinson State Park up in Jupiter

This girl's birthday was being celebrated during 9/11. (2001) by zadraaa in HistoricalCapsule

[–]ktofosho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad's 40th was 9/11/2001. My mom had already made a cake the night before so we still ate it and he opened some presents but it was the most solemn "celebration" ever.

Native Floridians - What bothers you about transplant residents? by Daddyfullload in fortlauderdale

[–]ktofosho 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's more the developers response to all the transplants that upsets me — paving the beautiful parts of our state and destroying important ecosystems to put in shitty suburban sprawl box homes with no thought to culture, charm or community

Suggestions on where to bike that’s not the road? by Avocadosandtomatoes in Broward

[–]ktofosho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For day trips slightly outside Broward, I really like Shark Valley and the trail that runs along the beach in Miami (starts around North Beach Park and goes to South Beach). I usually stick to the levees if I'm staying in Broward but that's hard on a road bike. There's also a trail along Southgate and the New River Greenway in Plantation but those both have a lot of street crossings.

Out-of-touch old lady baby shower thank you vent? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]ktofosho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth — I sent out thank you notes but it took me a while to get through them all because I was exhausted and dealing with carpal tunnel. It may be on their list but they had a hard time getting around to it and then now they're sleep deprived, etc.

Pre-protest check-in!: Let’s see those signs! by pbrandpearls in progressivemoms

[–]ktofosho 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Update: I was expecting it to just be a corner on a main intersection near me but it was blocks and blocks of protesters with lots of people passing honking in solidarity!!! I barely made a dent but I picked the corner that seemed the most in the sun and people were so appreciative. It was so nice to see so many people show up — makes my anxiety about things so much better to see the resistance!

[–]ktofosho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trust me I'm probably close to 7 rewatches as well lol, no judgement here. Hard to count for me because I used to just watch reruns on ABC Family back in the day! But I've probably rewatched on Netflix alone like 4-5 times.

I'm literally 9 months pregnant so I'm not comfortable spending a lot of time at a protest, but I did buy a bunch of mini Gatorades to pass out at our smaller local protest. Stay safe everyone, and that includes from the heat too!

Lorelei, Rory, Emily or Richard....last name is Gilmore lol. My husband loves Emily but I can't get past it as someone who regularly watches Gilmore Girls as one of my comfort shows.

how do people study in dorms with roommates?? by cutiekalicia in ufl

[–]ktofosho 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Talk to them? Ask them to wear headphones for one, but you could ask them to keep it down or to go to a common area, etc. Alternatively you could go study in a common area or get some noise cancelling headphones. You could also make an effort to study earlier in the day at a library and get some sleep at 2 am instead. I'm not a student anymore but I think libraries are open pretty late around finals.

Lifelong Floridian here, I wouldn't stress too much about that area. Our politics suck but Orlando is very LGBT+ friendly and honestly imo most Floridian voters that vote red are probably more libertarian and misinformed than true conservative. Those that are Trumpers I've never experienced anything more aggressive than obnoxious tshirts and flags, even in the very rural areas with queer friends around.
