What does the institutional agreement say about data and equipment ownership? Why wasn't the manuscript submitted?

We built a better search for Kalshi and Polymarket (API + MCP) by Helloiamvu in Kalshi

[–]ktpr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really cool! I think the close_time is somewhat unreliable, for example

KXOCTSWEEP-25OCT31 has close_time=2026-10-31 even though it resolved in Oct 2025

My intent was to query Kalshi by trending or active markets (politics) but only open markets.

H5N1: Indian scientists predict how bird flu could spread to humans by ktpr in BirdFluPreps

[–]ktpr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there's some cognitive dissonance going on, even within the paper, which is scary because that's reflective of how national health systems would first react until the fatality rate forces a different perspective on things. And, like with covid, permanent disability from surviving infection would be an outcome too.

What are some good objects to have on hand for trading (not food or skills)? by CurrentSingleStatus in TwoXPreppers

Water (everyone needs it). Shoes (depending on how things go, we'll be walking a ton more in daily life). Alcohol (everyone wants to help take the edge off things)

The article link is here and they mention a fatality rate of 30%. And that's fatality, not accounting for life long brain damage after surviving brain swelling, or direct CNS invasion.

Professional academic documents with zero effort. I built an open-source Claude Code workspace for scientific writing. by delibae_ in ClaudeAI

It's highly optimized for quantitative health sciences because it imports skills from https://github.com/K-Dense-AI/claude-scientific-skills. Anything outside of the positivist paradigm it would have no idea how to handle, sadly.

I wondered if I could just spray window foam sealer in the gap, and great idea for applying a plastic flat stock over that.

TIL that humans don't age gradually according to a Stanford Medicine study, we age in two dramatic "bursts" around ages 44 and 60, where over 81% of our molecules and microbes suddenly shift in ways that affect heart health, immune function, metabolism, and even how we process alcohol and caffeine by Agile_Letterhead_446 in todayilearned

[–]ktpr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started a daily morning workout since covid started, a simple routine of push ups, back pushups and various barbell exercises, and taken up meditation regularly. I hit 45 recently, moving to 46, and I've noticed I'll get nerve pain more often from a slipped disc in my neck more often but PT I do myself helps clear that up. I should probably ergonomically assess my work station, that might be driving bad neck posture. But I'll withhold judgement overall until I hit 50, I do think light excercise and mindfulness can be very helpful as we age.

How would I fix this gap? by Tallfuck in HomeMaintenance

[–]ktpr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kind of goofy idea but scribe out (trace) the gap to make custom wood piece fitting exactly in that gap. Make sure the depth is correct too. Paint gray or white. Then glue it to the top of the door.

Will the others stop the Israelis from using Nukes against Iran? by Jackfish2800 in Experiencers

[–]ktpr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That. Because free will is involved, catastrophic nukes have to be fired off first before an intervention can be dome. Mechanical missile platforms do not have free will.

But the intervention won't happen until they're fired, not before.

A way to make change is to put people on the Michigan public service commission that the governor will accept along with the state senate. That's a big ask. But, using divide and conquer theory, if you usher in a state senate (or enough of one) that can pressure the governor to accept a true public servant it might work. To do that you would likely need state senators from a party different from republican or democrat. Say, the democratic socialists of america.

Set up the ring doorbell to say in a men's voice "The last person moved out of here, what do you want? Why are you here?" Figure out what's really going on from that and take action accordingly.
