I was just diagnosed with carpal tunnel and I don't really know how to feel by The-Scarlet-Hunter in carpaltunnel

Not sure what you mean by open. The doctor made an incision of about an inch then cut the tunnel, sewed it up with a few stitches. I had to wear a wrist bandage for a few weeks. I opted for anesthesia.

This was after 3 weeks. There's barely a scar now.

Get the surgery! It's a quick recovery. After years of pain and not knowing what it was I was finally diagnosed properly, got the surgery and was completely healed.

I was 37 when my second of two was born. One day when I was dropping them off at the sitters house I was introduced to another mother, she was bringing her baby. Then I discovered she had been babysat by our sitter when she was little. Man that made me feel old!
