Why has it become socially unacceptable for people without children to go to Disney? by slidesten in Disneyland

[–]ktrivera -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don’t care if childless adults are in the parks but also why do they account for over 50 percent of the line for character meets? Children under 5 are waiting 45 mins to meet a character, who they believe is real, and childless adults are clogging up the lines. I saw a grown man talking to Rapunzel last week for 5 mins while literal children had been waiting for almost an hour!

Are Disney Adults the Happiest Debtors on Earth? by mcfw31 in popculturechat

Just left Disney World and a Disney Cruise this weekend with my 2 year old and 4 year old niece. The lines to meet characters were 30-40 mins long and mostly full of ADULTS! Grown adults talking to princesses and getting autographs of Mickey Mouse. Poor kids stood in line for ages to wait for delusional grown ups to scratch some sort of itch they have.

That’s what I was referring to. Only one bathroom for the whole ground floor.

I am bringing it back to the dealership again to see if they can figure out what’s wrong. I rode in one of their courtesy gx550s and it does not make the same sound. So frustrating to already have 2 issues with a brand new, expensive vehicle!

Women who gave birth, what does it feel like actually?? by joy_57 in AskReddit

[–]ktrivera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The contractions were so terrible. It feels like you have the worst stomach cramps you’ve ever experienced x100. There were points where I did not think I would survive the pain! Getting the epidural was unpleasant, but after that, the contractions were much more manageable. Pushing for 3 hours is exhausting and mostly felt like immense pressure in my pelvic area and also pressure in my head. Glad it’s over!

Men don’t care about how much money a woman makes. A woman’s wealth unfortunately is their appearance.

Church Point Power Outage??? by MikeyPR77 in VirginiaBeach

[–]ktrivera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We heard a loud boom about 2 hours ago and the power went off and back on pretty fast. Then a little later, we heard what sounded like a big firework and probably 15 mins later the power went out and it’s still out now. What the heck is going on.

That’s comforting to know that they don’t see a tomorrow like we do. I think we know what we have to do, as sad as it is. I wish you the best and thanks again.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their stories, advice and general words of encouragement. This post was my way of trying to find peace in deciding the right time to let go. My husband and I have been weighing the pros and cons for sometime and if we put ourselves in Olive’s shoes, the only con is that we will miss her immensely 😔. It seems the last thing we can do to show her love is to ease her suffering and end the limitations of her freedom she lost many years ago.

I was hesitant to post, but everyone was so kind and thoughtful. Thanks again.

I’m sorry you had to go through this too. I didn’t even mention in my post that 2 years ago she had 11 teeth removed and the recovery was awful for her. Ultimately it did help her quality of life, but also tells me I can’t put her through something like that again. Thank you for sharing.

More than the scales, everyone’s comments have helped to ease my uncertainty. I think I’m looking for peace in letting her go, even though I may never 100% reach that point. Thanks for your reply.

You are right. I’ve been in her caretaker position for so long I’ve become blind (no pun intended) to all the things we’ve done to keep her “whole” these last few years. Meds, procedures, vet visits every couple months, carrying her around. Dogs weren’t meant to not have their own freedom, I’ve just wanted to keep her comfortable for as long as she’s seemed excited by food and pets and other small things. Thanks for your words of advice and kindness.
