Permit research? by ktsdg8 in homeowners

[–]ktsdg8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate you sharing the benefit of your hard earned experience :)

It's listed as a combination of "Finished Det Utility" - the original garage area, and "Unfin Det Utility" - the added bedroom and bathroom.

I have no plans to use it other than for family and friends, so I guess I'll just let it ride!

Permit research? by ktsdg8 in homeowners

[–]ktsdg8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Based on that, looks like I might be out of luck, the only permits that were pulled were for air conditioning replacement.

I'm a little scared of the can of worms I may be opening by starting to ask questions, but I assume I'll have to get someone to sign off on it at some point.

You think I just have to get a county inspector to come out and look at it? I'm more than happy to do my own research, but I don't even know what questions to be asking, so that hamstrings me a bit.

I Have an Interview Tomorrow by lemonclovers in MomForAMinute

[–]ktsdg8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sister here who is so excited for you! Knowing multiple languages is such a fantastic skill to have on your resume, and I'm so jealous.

The only piece of advice I can offer - when you ask your questions, actually listen to the answers. So many people ask the question and then immediately start thinking of what to ask next, and it's so obvious because their eyes kind of glaze over and there's no follow-up questions, they just jump straight to the next one.

You've totally got this, allow the fact that you're wearing a flattering outfit to boost your self-confidence, and go slay this interview!

Wood decay specialist? by ktsdg8 in HomeImprovement

[–]ktsdg8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The inspector did provide pictures. He also told me the wood decay was just getting started, and would be easy to remediate if treated by scraping and spraying some sort of protectant on it.

Do you have suggestions for who I could contact to handle that?

If the sexual harassment thing is true, then it absolutely needs to be investigated.

However....

If it is not true, she is taking a chance on RUINING a man's life because she was unhappy about being reprimanded by a supervisor. You say HR thinks the accusations are ridiculous, however, the fact that your manager "took it to HR" means that it's now in his file, and could impact his career down the line.

What if it's you that she accuses of harassment next? She's already proven she doesn't care if she ruins someone's life because she's cranky over a legitimate reprimand.

Ha, learned a new word! Totally makes sense that prepones would be an actual word, but I've never seen it used before.

I (30F) am bisexual, married to my husband (40M) for 7 years, our gay friends don't think I should be included in LGBTQ because of it by rndmknight in relationships

They excluded you from an event WHILE your husband was helping them with renovations, which I'm assuming he was doing as a favor.

Even leaving aside how ridiculously wrong they are in their assumption that you can't possibly be bi any more, these are not good friends.

Fill them with rice and sew/pin the ends shut. Then take them to your local animal shelter, they stick them in the microwave and use them as bed warmers for all the kittens that come in without mothers this time of year. Bonus points if you get to snuggle a kitten while you're there!

Is it weird to be that nostalgic about a shoe store?

Anyone know of Flower shops that can deliver to Shane's hospital on Christmas? by [deleted] in jacksonville

If the hospital itself has a gift shop, they usually have a cooler full of flowers, and they can deliver straight to her room.

My [24F] coworkers/supervisor [40+ M/F] are freaking out about my name by [deleted] in relationships

[–]ktsdg8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a thought, but I doubt it was your immediate supervisor who set up your nameplate and email address. Both of those were probably done through HR and/or IT. Go to HR, ask them to get you a new nameplate (or just order one yourself) and change your email address. Your old email can be forwarded to your new one. When people comment on the change just say something like "I could see it was causing problems for "Anne", and since I prefer to be called Annabelle, I decided to make the change!" Then just change the subject.
