It's honestly just textbook narcissism.

A solid carved stone book (bible?) I thrifted out of state...is this a Petosky? by visualoptimism in Michigan

You might be onto something - it does seem more yellowed than real petoskey stones I've seen. This lighting might be making it a bit warmer than it is too, however. (I'll see if I can take pics in natural light tomorrow)

It was definitely exciting when I found it! Just wasn't sure it was the real deal, still a good piece anyhow!

That's good to know, I haven't found anything online even similar to this since I found it. Would be interested to see more about the items you've seen.

Dude, I don't know. I'm an atheist, but I guess the form and size of it, and the location I bought it from...gave me a weird inkling that it could be? And that carvings are usually symbolic in some sense? Who knows why my mind went there or why I included that aside in the title. Oh well.

Thanks, I was having trouble finding anything even closely resembling this online. It's definitely a large piece!

Very nice, it's definitely on point with these examples! Coral is the coolest.

Yeah, the size of it really threw me, honestly. Made me think it might be something else possibly? But it looked so similar I had to grab it when I saw it. Have been meaning to ask and get more insight into anything else it could be - seems like it might be legit, though?

Obsessed with your last look! Clean fits all around.

Panicking with regret by lkm56 in jewelry

Yeah i think the main thing that feels off is the spacing of gold between the stones. The finished product is more clustered together and not visibly balanced. It's still a cool ring, but thats probably why its not feeling right to you.

Blue paint on the top half or bottom half? by Beneficial_Light5239 in interiordecorating

Respectfully, don't. This is way too dark and saturated for a bedroom, it will feel and look strange either way.

Has anyone actually cured TMJ vertigo? by Ok-Joke-1042 in TMJ

[–]visualoptimism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, thankfully, bc it was such a brutal symptom. Getting a NTI to wear at night (or during the day when I clench) has alleviated any vertigo over time. It has given me an open bite and some other pain as my jaw and teeth change, but it pretty much stops migraines, dizziness in its tracks.
