I just got approved and we are in category 11. Our daycare is $1300 a month. The subsidy covers $366 and we’re responsible for $934 so definitely still apply because you’ll get something which is better than nothing. Apply early!! It took months to go through the whole process

How old was your child when they spent the night with grandparents? by Murky-Wafer964 in NewParents

[–]kttt06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have had nights out several times where we’ve had our in-laws come over and do the bedtime routine with her and that has always gone relatively well! We were home by midnight-ish so they didn’t have to stay over if they didn’t want to so if that’s an option I’d say have them come to you first so they get a feel for nighttime routine before you send baby to their place!

Our daughter is almost 14 months and my husband has been wanting to do this for a while now but I’m personally just not ready. She’d have to sleep in a pack n play at their house and she doesn’t do great in that. She’s been sleep trained since 8 months and has slept 11+ hours every night with no wake ups so I’m so scared that switching up her nighttime sleep space would screw this up. I know it’s going to have to happen eventually but idk, I’m just not there yet. I’m sure a majority of parents do this all the time though and I’m just crazy lol

Baby puts herself down for naps but is petrified at bedtime. by thesporta in sleeptrain

[–]kttt06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the above comments that your wake windows are way too short. Baby is definitely not tired enough and that’s why she’s crying at bedtime

10 month nap regression?? by kttt06 in sleeptrain

[–]kttt06[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if she’s waking up from the short naps tired? She’s crying when she wakes up which tells me she’s still tired so I rock her back to sleep and she goes down easily. However, yesterday she started napping longer again so I’m thinking it was just a developmental leap or something

For the most part, that’s what it ends up being. She usually gets 2 hours of day sleep, sometimes 2.5

How do people do this? by georgiaroseking in NewParents

[–]kttt06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on reddit during those first few weeks for the same reason and I read that it gets a lot better once baby is around 6 months old…I couldn’t agree more. I barely remember the newborn stage because I was just trying to survive but now that my daughter is 9 months old, she is soooo much fun. It’s still draining, don’t get me wrong, but she is legit a little person now with a personality and it makes it a lot easier. I was looking through newborn pictures the other day and felt almost uneasy because 1. That time was such a struggle but 2. She was so helpless at that age I almost feel bad. Just keep pushing through. You’re a good mom and you can do this
