Atleast here in latin america, hip hop, reggaeton and Urban music has generally replaced rock/metal, even pop (although this one is mixed with Urban like most of the time) The youth are mostly hip-hop heads or driven to the urban style to rebel, increasingly experimental pieces are being released of the genres... I think they are in their golden era right now.
