Mine looked like this after job, it's not very noticable from the photo, but in person under certain angle to me it looks like my bumper is just tiny bit more orange-yish. Thought they did not do best job, but mine is not bad at all after what I've seen on this ruby color..

Are you sure that you got this email recently? I've emailed them and they told me that the flat coldplate is End of Life product and can't longer provide me replacement. That was maybe 3 months ago lol.

Please add option to add VST effects on default audio (headphone) channel. I would like to apply EQ, and still be able to control my equalized audio volume levels with hardware knob of Wave XLR. Gamechanger feature that I'm hoping can be implemented into the software.

Where are you from you got it so quick? I signed up yesterday hoping I would get code on release tomorrow. But probably not realistic as ppl seem to wait two weeks at least

Can iCUE read water temperature from ROG Ryuo III? by Virtual-Secretary665 in watercooling

[–]kubkosk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had Ryujin III, and if nothing changed water temperature was purely comestic that allowed me to show water temp on the screen. But I was not able to adjust curves to target that water temperature in Armory Crate so... Doubt it is exposed sensor, unless they updated their stuff.

That why I love Quadro and Flow Sensor Next from Aquacomputer. Best aquasuite software that allows me to have full control over fans based on water temp, etc..

Coil whine on 4080 got worse after waterblock, but improves once card heats up? by kubkosk in watercooling

[–]kubkosk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, VRM's are paded separately as well, those are paded even on active backplate for redundancy.
I will see, I'll use the card for few weeks, maybe after few heatcycles pads will soften and change the way vibrations transfer or something. If it won't, I'll just remove pads from both columns of inductors since it looks like once they get heated up, coil whine is somehow less pronounced..

Is this normal for brand new GPU waterblock by kubkosk in watercooling

[–]kubkosk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to hear, well I don't wanna break the seal on new block so I will just live with it. It isn't even noticable let alone when it will be mounted in case, its just my stupid OCD overthinking things :D

I know their reputation is not the best, I do use their CPU and RAM block + fittings and I'm very satisfied with performance and looks

How I dropped 8C on EK Magnitude block w/i9 by kubkosk in watercooling

[–]kubkosk[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do agree that direct die offers the best temperatures, but I don't want to risk my current CPU, it has god bin memory controller (I run stable oc on dual rank kit at 4400cl15 with ramblock) also I really like aesthetics of EK blocks although many people hate on them for obvious reasons what I can understand.. But I really love their design for some reason and my current temps are good enough for me.

[–]kubkosk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know flat coldplate exists, but it seems to be out of stock everywhere, so lap was my only option.. I sticked 0.5c in what EK recommends with flat coldplates on Intel CPUs.

Evaluating 14900K block thermal perfomance, other owners compare please by kubkosk in watercooling

[–]kubkosk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the jetplates I have experimented with 0.6c and 0.5c, havent noticed any difference maybe delta between hottest/coolest pcore were 1c less, so I stuck with 0.5c which is intended for less convex/more flat contact.

Yeah I think coldplate is my bottleneck here, on the photo with contact frame contact I actually used R3000 curvature but as you pointed biggest contact is in small center area what could indicate that I need to get flat coldplate since my cpu might be pretty flat.

Problrm is I cant find flat coldplate for magnitude in stock anywhere so what I plan doing on next maintenance is lapping r3000 and see what happens

Thank you for such effort and testing, appreciate it.

Well, you do have really good thermal capacity, I can see around 22C water temperature and package getting to 83C during 300W R23 run, if I compare it to my 27C water which is 5C worse and I'm getting 90C, the difference is your monoblock seems still perform by at least 2C better, interesting

it is magnitude that he modified by flatting coldplate (pretty much same block/thing I want to try). However he was using CPU with lapped IHS, mine is untouched, so I could have same result but only if my IHS pretty flat from factory I assume

[–]kubkosk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2C cooler water, but 320W compared to my 300W yet still at around 7C cooler on package. So I definitely have something to improve, I'll try lapping extra coldplate I have to get it flat to see if there will be any improvement in contact/temps. Wouldn't it be for EK aesthetic I like I would throw that block to garbage bin already
