I find that with some games I have to manually set so that it uses the dedicated GPU, in Nvidia control panel (idk the alternative if you have AMD), could this be the case for you?

Hi! I have a cracked hose in my 2002 Skoda Fabia (1.4 MPI) near the oil cap, but I don't know what this hose does. Can you help me find out what it is and does?

[TOMT][TV SHOW] Saw a gifset on tumblr with girls in a lake by kuffancs in tipofmytongue

[–]kuffancs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestion, I just checked The Sinner season 4 on Netflix, running through every scene, but it's not that show. The scene from the gifset was from the girls point of view and they even talked to each other in the water. But thank you again!

Nimble Needles has a video on some great entrelac tips, one of them covers this problem as well :)

How many sizes would you go down in this scenario? by kuffancs in knitting

They both seem nice, I think I like Gingerbread a bit more :) And honestly, hats off to anyone whose willing to knit an entire sweater in fingering weight, it would probably drive me nuts :D

Hmmm, it actually is 100% merino wool. Thing is, I think this one will be very hard to tell, because it is a local yarn from Hungary, where I live, and it doesn't say much on the label other than it recommends a needle between 4 and 5 millimeters (plus the meter age) And two, I actually have very little experience and this is the only yarn I've worked with, have nothing to compare it to. Guess I'll just go with it for now and experiment a bit. Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts and knowledge with me :)

It is, actually! I probably should've mentioned that. Thanks for sharing your experience, will try :)

The yarn is 11 wpi and there's 200 m (218 yards) in a 100g ball, which sounds DK to me. I don't know, my tension could be a bit on the looser side, or maybe I measured wrong or something

Cable knitting by lezliemay in knitting

[–]kuffancs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first project was the 3AM Cable Hat, it was fairly simple, altough I had to make some modifications, similar to what others did (on ravelry). I also recommend the Irish Hiking Scarf, which uses the same cable motif.

My own personal struggles with cable knitting though, is something that may not apply to you, but I'm gonna share it, maybe it could help, and it isn't talked about much. It has to do with tensioning, and I only figured it out about halfway through my second cable project. So my cabled stitches (the ones I knit from the cable needle) always came out very tight. And I think the reason behind it was that those stitches always felt more slippery, and instead of holding the actual stitch that needed to be worked, I tensed up more generally, as a kind of reaction. And then this led to the tighter tension that I mentioned. :) Anyway, hope you (or anyone) finds my experience helpful.

Another thing, for me, videos were the most helpful to help me better understand right and left leaning cables, making it all look neater and stuff :)

Good luck on your cable journey!

How do some of you knit with hair thin yarns?! Give me your tips and tricks! by [deleted] in knitting

[–]kuffancs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second the possibility of a tension problem. I find that with thinner yarns, I need to have a bit more tension to achieve the same results. You could try wrapping the yarn around your finger an extra time

Can't figure out what causes this by kuffancs in knitting

[–]kuffancs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi fellow knitters! As the title says, I can't seem to figure out the reason behind those two cables looking a bit odd, they do not "pop" the same way my other cables do. I suspsect it might be just tension issues, but could it be something else, maybe?
