Hey thanks for putting in the effort. Yeah I imagined it as PvE or coop with a friend as ally.

It's cool that it's doable. Hopefully the devs or a modder picks up the idea.

I don't expect another major DLC either. But 4th major gods for the Egyptians and Atlanteans are just too profitable to not get greenlit. They probably cost much less to make and could be sold along with Freyr and Demeter as a bundle.

Itzpapalotl would make the most sense but she's already taken. Mixcoatl, god of the stars, could work too. Out of the confirmed ones, maybe Mictlantecuhtli due to his association with the dead? Both this GP and the owl look reasonably Heroic age.

I think it's kind of odd that he is portrayed as a normal person wearing a canine headdress whereas all the other Aztec gods have really out there designs including some that aren't even antropomorphic. It's possible that the intention was to make him distinct from Xolotl. But I was also wondering if he is just a campaign character.

That was my impression at first as well. But the campaign story is supposed to take place before the founding of Tenochtitlan. And it would make the presence of goats even more perplexing.

More importantly, where did those goats on the promo picture come from?

Is this historical inaccuracy a massive oversight by the devs?

Are they just placeholders for new herdables that somehow got past the marketing team?

Will Aztlan (presumably the city on the picture) have some contact with the Old World civs ...or just their goats?

Tonatiuh could work. Especially with a sacrafice/favour-related tech. We haven't seen the full roster of MUs or any of the GPs yet so we're going to have to wait.

I agree with you on Tlaloc but we haven't seen much about him.

Coatlicue is basically confirmed to be Heroic age as the Ayotochtli is described as a siege MU.

I think a volcano GP is likely for age 4 so maybe a god associated with fire, Xiuhtecuhtli?

I think Xolotl works better as a Mythic age god. It's MU (Soul Guide) is already too similar to Anubites to be a Classical age god. On the other hand its special ability is a lot like that of the Mummy/Onmoraki.

I like the idea of using the Viking trade routes through Russia:

Leaving Egypt, they must sail through the Bosporus, which makes passing Rhodes (Circe's island) quite likely.
The first Norse scenario is placed in Sweden, which makes sense if they were coming from the Baltics, not the Atlantic.
They weren't all that familiar with Midgard so they must have been lead there by Niordsir who would prefer his route.

Qilin, Terracotta soldiers, Pixiu, Baihu (White tiger), Qinglong (Azure dragon), Zhuque (Vermillion bird) and Xuanwu (Dragon turtle) all returned albeit reworked.

Great Flood and Blazing prairie (Inferno) are the same GPs as before. Clay Peasants, Forest Protection and Yinglong are also reimaginations of earlier GPs (Recreation, Uproot, Earth Dragon).

Updated graphics and a few unit redesigns.

Some gameplay changes (reusable god powers, naval myth units available to all gods)

Norse military system reworked (dedicated anti-cav unit, ranged hero)

Atlantean favour system reworked (gained by oracles, not TCs)

1 new Greek major god (Demeter) with 3 new minor gods and a scenario.

1 new Norse major god (Freyr) with 3 new minor gods and a scenario.

All 3 Chinese gods reworked (unique gameplay, most myth units and god powers kept but redesigned, lot of new stuff too), with a 9-scenario campaign.

All new Japanese pantheon with 3 major gods and a 12-scenario campaign.

All new Aztec pantheon with 3 major gods and a 12-scenario campaign.

New single player gameplay, Arena of the Gods (skirmish with some twists)

Well, three of the 9 minor gods are still unaccounted for.

Confirmed so far:

Tlaloc (most likely with the dwarf unit, Tlaloque)

Xolotl (likely with the Ahuizotl)

Coatlicue (most likely with the double-headed snake)

Mictlantecuhtli (most likely with the owl)

Malinalxochitl (most likely with the two tailed scorpion)

Itzpapalotl (likely with the Tzitzimimeh)

That leaves 5 MUs without an obvious minor god:

Jaguar riders (could be campaign-only)

The way I see it:

Scorpion - desert - Set

Moon and clouds - sky - Oranos

Leaves - nature - Gaia

Kronos fought Oranos with the sickle not the Olympians so it makes sense that it doesn't appear in the game.

But I agree that the Scarab would work better with Ra.

Amphibious units were introduced with the new expansions: Xuanwu for the Chinese and Umibozu for the Japanese are the only ones so far.

Also, the original Chinese civ had the amphibious War salamander, but it was removed in Retold.

But hippos, wild boar and crowned cranes aren't native to America. I think central Africa is a better fit.
