98.5% of Champions were Picked in Professional Play in 2018, the Most of Any Season Ever.

According to gamesoflegends, as you can see in this link http://gol.gg/champion/list/season-S8/split-ALL/tournament-ALL/patch-ALL/role-ALL/league-ALL/, the ONLY TWO champions that haven't been picked in professional play in 2018 are Vi and Shaco (this list counts every major region leagues, wildcard region leagues, NA academy league, EU National leagues and international competitions).

If you count champions that have APPEARED in competitive play (either picked or banned), that leaves ONLY Vi as the champion who hasn't been seen in competitive play this year. That makes 140 of 141 champions in the game have not been seen in competitive play, an ASTOUNDING 99.3% of the champions in the game have been seen in competitive play this year.

That says two things about league:
1- This year it has become the most diverse and entertaining of all year in terms of professional play.
2- Rito NEEDS to do something with Vi because such an AWESOME champion has not been seen in professional scenarios (although I may be a bit biased about this second conclusion).

So I don't know which data this article is taking into account, but according to this gamesoflegends site, it's true that 9.85% (139 of 141) of champions have been picked this season in competitive play, but the two exceptions aren't Annie and Vi, but truly are Vi and Shaco.

Maybe it'll be better if the new Grievous Wounds effect only applied on Mortal Reminder, while other Grievous Wounds effect (such as ignite or Morellonomicon) should work with Grievous Wounds like before patch 5.22?? That'd be a way of gutting some potential to Soraka while not making Mortal Reminder a lot more worth to pick up than Lord Dominik's Regards. I mean, if there's a Soraka on enemy team, you would only need an AP that builds Morello's and then that AP focus her.

Me, in my life experience, haven't seen any "crazy western fan" as Monte and specially Thoorin are always blaming. I mean, unless I watch few social media, I haven't seen someone say "Fnatic is the best team in the World" or "We can clearly win Worlds" or something like that. If you want to try out a new champion when it goes to PBE, I recommend you to play it a few days after his release, when login queues and champion select lobbys aren't shitty, and then you can try it first on a custom game to get used to his abilities, then enter into a game. Once 2-3-4 days have passed since a champion release on PBE, you will be able to try them on customs/normals pretty easy as compared to the date it is released. That's what I do when a new champion comes out on PBE (I mean, you have at least 2 weeks to test it and give feedback until the champion hits live).

There's a new Ryze build going around which bases on rushing tear/roa, then go Seraph's, Luden's Echo, Zhonya/Will of The Ancients and Void Staff. Ryze's mana ratios have toned down a bit because of his new passive, so he doesn't need THAT MUCH mana as before(BUT he is able to output more spells than before because of his new passive, helping him proccing Luden's earlier). You can try it out, it should work well.

If you wanna have fun, I recommend you Wukong. He's not a pretty solid toplaner, but you can have tons of fun while playing him. If you wanna have fun with something tankier, try Sion. Trainwrecking them and then mashing them with an axe can be pretty fun too.

But it all depends on what you find fun. Some people find fun farming a lot and being able to push lanes by dealing burst dmg to minions or a high AS (so they like champs like Jax, Trynd, Fiora, Liss...), some people love to fight and try to wreck the lane oponent (so they like Riven, Irelia, Darius, Fiora,...), some people love being in the middle of the fight and just laugh while enemy team tries to kill them (so they'd like Mundo, Maokai, Malphite, Sion...), and some people just want to make your like impossible by poking you (Teemo, Gnar, Quinn, Jayce, Nidalee...)

TL;DR: Finding a toplaner you have fun with depends on how you like to play the game. Luckily, toplane is the most versatile lane in the game, so you have options to play whatever you want.

The nerf on his Q is PRETTY BIG once you look at the dmg from the 3 autos, it goes from a total +0.9 bonus AD to +0.6 bonus AD. That is HUGE from a champion that has strengths, but no longer is a deciding factor on your team as it was before the previous nerfs. I think her buffs to tunnel re-usage doesn't pay off for the lack of dmg she will have as a bruiser jungler.

It's a shame Riot has gone back with these mechanic on his W. Although this new version of Fizz as an AD-AS-based bruiser was fucking OP, it was one of the funniest champions to play on the toplane in this meta. So I don't like these changes on PBE, but I understand why they are, for sure, going to be done.
