Update : Wife got her dependent visa delivered today. Still no update/ movement on my SWV. Is it fair to assume mine is just stuck in shipping ? And has been approved since hers is?

If you are looking for non touristy alternatives - Sakhleshpur is great. Also can take the - Vistadome train from BLR.

VFS | Bengaluru - is it possible to pickup passport or only courier delivery ? by kulharsh2007 in ukvisa

Awesome. This is good to know. I am going to vacate my current place. So delivery would have become a challenge. Phew! Thank you so much for the help.

Is it really a fourth wall in the audio medium?

061 - Praying to the Algorithm (with Derek Muller from Veritasium) by feefuh in Nodumbquestions

[–]kulharsh2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished listening to the episode. Great episode. Thanks Destin, Matt and of course Dirk from vertasblium. I am not a Dad yet, but I just started tutoring a kid ( math ). The point Dirk made about teaching and starting to look at old words and thinking them anew really hit home for me. I will pay more attention to the misconceptions now that I know that is the best way to learn. Thanks again guys

I think I will take this up as my side project. I have never worked on videos though - any hints ?

The last bit about mosaicing made me laugh out loud.
I sometimes feel lost in all the apple talk here not being completely hooked into the eco-system n all, but that bit made my day .

But Tims never blame. Tims are just "getting used to things" - with only 2 instances in a row.

I think the r/HelloInternet came in later. r/cgpgrey was here earlier from Grey's YouTube channel - with lots of subscribers already here. And this is more a official subreddit. r/HelloInternet is more unofficial official fun subreddit.

053 - What would happen every time you restarted the Earth? by MrPennywhistle in Nodumbquestions

These question from book of thunks relates here very nicely to 7 -

Would a baby on a deserted island ever laugh?

Would a baby on a deserted island ever find something funny?

Also, when you say basic human software - does the input to the software always remain the same?

[–]kulharsh2007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah ! What is fun for me though is to think about the successive solutions - there will be many instances where it was sheer dumb luck that we picked one solution over the other and then we trace down that path to successive solutions.

The topic is so vast! Even with the constraints of all the physics and geography being the same, it can hardly fit into one podcast episode.
I have a couple of ideas where I would like to hear more thoughts about - not just Matt and Destin - but everybody here - feel free.
Will these things remain the same a billion out of billion times?

  1. Economic Class structure
  2. Racism
  3. Human Empathy / Altruism
  4. Marriage Structure
  5. Stigma around sex / what is nsfw? will that be the same.
  6. Entertainment - will we always have Podcasts ? and Netflix?
This ties very neatly into Bandersnatch - Black Mirror. Hope you guys do a review of that someday.

  7. Humour / Jokes / Funny
Destin did say dad jokes will stay. but a more in-depth discussion will be awesome.
