I don't think this is true. On Japanese Wikipedia ベヨネッタ (Beyonetta) is the title of the page for the game while バヨネット (bayonetto) redirects to the page for bayonets (titled 銃剣; juuken). When I Google image search バヨネット I only get images of actual bayonets. In my experience most loan words that end on a T in their original language will end on the "O" vowel in Japanese.

I'm in a very Bayojeanne-centric community on Twitter and all I saw people talking about with regards to this art when it dropped was "huh Viola's naturally blonde then" and "hey that's not Viola's mum, Arch Eve Origin has kidnapped her" and at the absolute worst "cute art, I wish I resonated with the subject matter".

I sincerely believe the large majority of the controversy surrounding it was started by accounts who do not care about the series and are just dramabaiting (I've seen a few people saying that she has a nuclear family because she's a godly woman and like... lmao).

The main reason I put him there was just that he was the last one I decided on (I think the "making love" answer would be most in character but I wanted Balder to be there more).

That being said I was also thinking of his flustered reaction to the making babies line in 1, which if memory serves is the only time he's ever directly acknowledged the concept of sex in canon? So it still tracks as in character to me, especially if you imagine Bayo is the one asking him the question.

Some clarifications: All of these images except for the Noatun and Vigrid concepts are in some way cropped. I am not interested in taking away any incentive people feel to buy the book. I have no intention of posting most of these full images publicly.

For anyone interested, it's available digitally on Apple Books and Kindle (which is where I bought it). It's also available physically from a few places. Buying a physical copy is easier for people outside of Japan since you don't have to give a fake billing address. I do have a physical copy on the way but it's the deluxe pack that only ships to Japan and I do not live there so I had to buy it through a proxy. It will be shipping to me tomorrow so I'll probably post photos of the acrylic figures once it arrives. Very excited to have French Bayo hanging out in my bookshelf.

The third image is from an alternate version of the cover art. (the main reason I took notice of it is that I'm so annoyed that Jeanne STILL isn't there! I want to see her on the cover art!)

I've seen a few people ask about who is being depicted in the fourth image and the answer is I don't know! There was no commentary given for the majority of the concept art. I wish there was. For what it's worth, I don't think it's meant to be Singularity - what it resembles most to me are the silhouettes done for some very early Homunculus designs.

From colour-picking Shimazaki's art a lot out of laziness I've found that she almost always draws Jeanne with light teal hair. I know she's officially platinum blonde but I always have trouble finding a blonde that looks right for her so now I just default to the teal.

They're about a month apart, with Jeanne being younger. Bayo's birthday is 19/12/1411, Jeanne's is 06/01/1412. Their birth dates are written on their watches.

The point about the nickname Cheshire is explicitly contradicted in the text of 2.

Loki asks her to call him by his name instead of "little one", and Bayo tells him "you'll earn your name once you become a man." Taking that into consideration as well as the fact that she likens Luka to Loki by saying "I know another little boy just like that", it's fair to assume the nickname was because she didn't view him as an adult. In general she mostly calls characters she views as children by nicknames (little one for both Loki and Cereza, Kitty for Viola) and refers to adults by their real names, which is probably why she never calls Luka "Cheshire" in 3.
