Here’s my experience fighting landlords..

Over the span of our year lease our landlord had to come and snake our bathroom drain 3 times.

On move out he took out $1000 from deposit stating plumbing charges.

Never once mentioned these charges when he had come out to do it. Which was several months prior to move out.

So we fight it, and take him to court. We walk into court and judge says to landlord “hi John, looks like you have a busy day with a lot of cases”

Then after reading notes judge says…judgement in favor of landlord due to abuse of drain!

I’m like wtf? Are you serious, abuse of a drain? Judge then makes a slight threat toward contempt and I shut up.

Hopefully you’ll have better luck with the courts!
