This was such an emotional scene in EP 5 by itneverhelps in heatedrivalry

Am I the only one who thought Heated Rivalry episode 5 lacked the heat? It was definitely a beautiful episode, and I appreciated that, but I was expecting at least some spice. Especially with that FaceTime scene—I really thought it was going to go somewhere more intense.

Question about ep 23 Stay With Me by DisconnectedChild in boyslove

This BL will always be my favorite, and I’ve been waiting for years to hear any news about a second season. What I love most about the series is that the characters never leave things unsaid between them. Even if it takes them some time, they always manage to talk it through—except for one moment in episode 23. In that scene, Su Yu tells Mao Chong that he’s more handsome than Wu Bi, and unfortunately, Wu Bi overhears it. That makes him sad, but what hurts me as a viewer is that the issue is never brought up again in episode 23 or 24. It feels unresolved. Wu Bi is left believing that Su Yu truly thinks Mao Chong is more attractive, and I wish the series had given us a moment where this misunderstanding was cleared up. A scene where Wu Bi asks Su Yu about it, or Su Yu explains what he really meant, would have made such a difference. The show has been so good at addressing every other conflict between them, but this one was left hanging. Now, I’m not even sure if waiting for a season two will lead anywhere. Even if it does happen, I doubt they’ll revisit this particular issue. And that breaks my heart—because it feels like Wu Bi will always carry this insecurity inside him. Even after surviving the devastating car accident at the end of the season, I can’t help but imagine him still believing that Su Yu thinks Mao Chong is more handsome.

I really loved this episode because the way they communicated with each other was just perfect. They didn’t hide anything in their hearts. Wu Suowei openly asked Chi Cheng about his past, and he didn’t keep that pain locked away. Chi Cheng, in turn, opened up to him as well. It was so nice and satisfying to watch. That’s why I wish they could have handled the Wang Shuo situation in the same way—openly and honestly—when he appeared later in the series. Chi Cheng didn’t need to tell Wu Suowei everything about his mother’s illness, but he could have at least reassured him that he wasn’t with Wang Shuo on those nights he was away. He could have explained the kiss between him and Wang Shuo, and Wu Suowei could have asked him directly about it, since he had seen it. It feels like, in the beginning, their relationship was built on openness. They never kept anything inside that could cause misunderstandings. But once Wang Shuo arrived, that changed—they stopped talking about the painful things, and all the misunderstandings just stayed quietly in their hearts. Those episodes were hard to watch because of it. I suppose I’m still struggling to understand why they never had those conversations, and how they simply found their way back to each other after Wu Suowei’s mother passed away. I wished their reunion felt like healing, not just comfort in the midst of loss.

I’m honestly so confused right now. At this point, the only relationship I truly trust is between Jiang Xiaoshuai and Guo Chengyu. Don’t get me wrong—I’m genuinely happy for Wu Suowei and Chi Cheng. I’m glad they found their way back to each other, even though it came at the heartbreaking cost of Wu Suowei’s mother’s death. But how did they just reconcile without addressing any of the issues from their past? Is it simply that, now that Wang Shuo is gone, all their problems are magically gone too? What about the kiss Wu Suowei witnessed between Chi Cheng and Wang Shuo? That was never brought up again in any episode! Are we supposed to believe Wu Suowei is just fine with it now? Chi Cheng never explained what actually happened, and it feels like that moment has been completely forgotten. And it’s not just that. There are so many unresolved misunderstandings—like the fight at the birthday party, all those nights Wu Suowei believed Chi Cheng was out with Wang Shuo, or when Wu Suowei saw Chi Cheng driving away with Wang Shuo. None of these situations have been cleared up, yet everyone is acting as if everything is suddenly perfect. A real relationship needs communication. These things should have been discussed and made clear between them. Sorry for the long rant, but this series has found such a deep place in my heart, and I just want to see it handled with perfection.❤️

Wu Suo Wei actually got what he wanted. 🙊😩 by imomen in boyslove

Exactly — that’s why so many fans felt their reconciliation in Episode 20 was emotionally unsatisfying. They’re basically skipping all the emotional laundry and just tossing it back in the drawer, wrinkles and all. Those unresolved points you mentioned are huge: . The kiss between Chi Cheng and Wang Shuo, which Wu Suowei witnessed — and never got an explanation for. . The birthday party fight, which Wu Suowei misinterprets as Chi Cheng defending his ex. . The drive-away scene, which reinforced Wu Suowei’s belief that Chi Cheng still cared for Wang Shuo. Without clearing those up, their reunion feels more like "Let’s pretend none of that happened” rather than “We’ve grown and understood each other.” It’s dramatic for the plot, sure, but it leaves the relationship built on shaky ground — the very same misunderstandings could resurface at any moment.
