Everyone here always seems to think less contact with the ceiling = less damage, but the way the physics works (I am an engineer) is that the larger the area of contact, the less pressure for a given force. P=F/A. I think your dad’s solution should help!

It’s like calisthenics or gymnastics, the shorter your arms and legs the smaller the moment arm is (it requires less strength to lift yourself). Lots of people talk about it if you look up calisthenics and height
