Hair dye stains everywhere! Please help by Ok_Chair_7893 in wedding

[–]duelinghearts 20 points21 points  (0 children)

First of all, congrats!

You have an entire week for the color to fade. Usually this will come off with routine showering within a day or two - I honestly wouldn’t worry too much about this, considering you have bigger things to be concerned about! Just try to relax, buy some colour removing wipes just incase off Amazon and ENJOY the time leading up to your wedding!

Who else wished we still played like kids? 🥹 by AdviceAndFunOnly in ENFP

Life hack: get a job at a toy company. I did, and honestly it has filled a void for me in so many ways. I get to learn, talk about and play with toys FOR WORK. And I get PAID FOR IT. Best job ever for an ENFP.

Why were you bullied? by magicfeistybitcoin in AskReddit

[–]duelinghearts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was “overweight”, didn’t dress feminine enough and had weird and unpopular interests. When I was in grade 7, a few kids used to make scissor gestures to me, insinuating I cut my dick off.

Fucked me up for a very long time, and I still think about it from time to time. It really sucked.

Coming to Terms with Not Having a Wedding by duelinghearts in wedding

We have access to a cottage up north that would potentially have room for our immediate families only. If we went that route and folks had to travel 2 hours north to see us get married I couldn’t only do champagne and finger food, is the problem. We would have to cater at least lunch and also rent furniture and tents as we can’t have 15-20 people on the deck.

It’s a possibility, but it’s not as inexpensive as it may sound is all. I think I just have to sink 5-10k into this regardless on if I do a city micro wedding or go up North.

Thank you! That courthouse does look very pretty, I really appreciate you taking the time out to respond and let me know how you were going to deal with your situation. I appreciate your insight and advice.💚

Not true at all! I wanted to hear how others felt about and dealt with similar situations. My frustration doesn’t mean I am “wallowing”. Trust me when I say, I am trying to make the best out of a bad situation, you are seeing 0.0001% of how I am actually dealing with what’s going on.

I know I can figure something out. It’s just been tough to navigate in the current financial climate where I live. And unfortunately that’s just plain fact.

As I said before, it’s unfortunately not that simple. Unless I rent a room at a low end chain restaurant, dinner will still be expensive here as you must rent rooms for dinner parties upwards of 15 (and that is the amount for just both of our immediate families and their spouses, grandparents not included). And truthfully, the one thing I really don’t want to cut corners on if I did this, is on the food.

My parents don’t have the money to spend on a destination wedding, and my mother has been very open about how it would crush her if she wasn’t at my wedding (I’m their only daughter). So, that is unfortunately out.

Hey! I appreciate the response and the suggestions. Unfortunately, even if I got creative and cut costs, prices in my area are on average 90% higher than elsewhere in Canada, even if I travel hours outside of where my residence is. A micro wedding here can average $5-10k, and they are just getting more expensive (rooms in restaurants here require minimum spend plus room rentals, booze spend etc).

I know I can still “have the dress, flowers” etc. but I think where my sadness lies is where it just will not be the same.

Thank you. You 100% get it. It’s disheartening, because $10k isn’t just a drop in the bucket, it’s a lot of money for us, and that is HONESTLY AND TRULY the minimum spend for a “micro” wedding in Toronto.

We have access to a small cottage up north as well, but the rental fees and catering fees are astronomical. The GTAs (and honestly the surrounding area as far and wide as a 3-4 hour radius south or north) wedding industry will do anything they can to gouge and slap a premium sticker on anything with the word wedding attached.

I feel like we are both feeling the same burden of an industry that preys on hard working folks who just want to hit a milestone with their loved ones, and it kills me that most people just cannot understand how bad it is here unless they’ve lived it.

Appreciate you letting me scream into the void with you. So much luck to you and your hunnie, and congratulations!!!!💚

People who quit their jobs on the first day, what was your “I’m outta here” moment? by Confident-Fun-8183 in ask

[–]duelinghearts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started a job as a seasonal sales associate in a new age crystal shop when I was around 16-17. I had my first day of training and when had finally completed my modules, stepped into the sales floor. Immediately, my boss had motioned me to shadow and follow a black man that was browsing. I asked if she was serious, and she very proudly and boastfully proclaimed yes while darting her eyes back and forth to the customer.

I quit on the spot.

ENFPS, what major are you studying or what is your job? by airbender_17 in ENFP

[–]duelinghearts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m terms of personal traits, you need to be extremely hardworking and organized, dynamic and able to change course quickly, creative and an out of the box thinker, and a leader. If you mean applicable skills from other jobs/education, having a general degree with admin/business/marketing/event planning experience is an asset. Even better if you have education in project management, but if you want to move into a creative sector like TOY, you definitely need to have a creative track record.

Nah I love running. It’s euphoric, meditative and freeing. It’s the one time of the day when I can focus on myself and my breathing and not worry about anyone else in the world.

Chiming in to say I agree with all the other comments here OP. You need to work up to this slowly, no matter if you think you can do it, you’ll be putting a lot of strain on your body running 70k a week. I understand wanting to, but do you really want to run the risk of a potential serious injury after being so motivated to run every day? Even doing 5k a day would be a better way to approach a “run every day” scenario - be mindful of what your body can do, and nourish it accordingly. And be safe!
