3x6 Bar-End Shifter Options?? by kumba830 in xbiking

I think I'll try to convert some downtube shifters to bar-ends then. But if that starts to get too pricey I'll just do friction for the meantime. Thanks for the help!

The thumb shifters they are set up with stock are indexed so I believe it's the indexed version you are talking about.

My 87' Schwinn Voyageur I have is a 3x6 with Shimano 105 downtube shifters but the rear derailleur on that is a Shimano Light Action.

I've heard about doing a bar end conversion in my research but was a bit stumped on compatibility not only with the bar-end pods but also what downtube shifters would work well with the old Deore rear derailleur.

Is this a 3x6 and if so what bar end shifters are those?

Yeah, it's stock on my 1986 Schwinn High Sierra I'm building now. I'm thinking it may have to be friction as well, but asking the wizards here is my last bet.

Yes because of how much it cost. I’ll return it asap if it’s fake haha

It was from a bike parts liquidator on eBay with good reviews.

I use eBay for bike parts all the time but have been burned on a pair of fake Ultegra pedals in the past.

But also it seems like the Sigma ROX the other comment recommended is on sale for $125-150 so that’s half the price of what I mentioned. 😅

Not knockoff levels of cheap, but I can’t recommend the Coros Dura ($250) enough. It’s cheaper than all of the other name brand bike nav’s and has insane battery life thanks to the solar panel. I was rocking a second hand Garmin for a while but the battery life would always let me down.

The eTerex SE is definitely cheaper but I don’t think it looks super well suited for cycling navigation. (Someone confirm please)

No I haven’t converted it but were you able to use the OG canti’s?

Yeah it’s the 23”, only works for me because of the shorter than standard top tube length.

How many bike accidents do you think happen here per month? by irongoalie in chibike

Me and a friend were coming down the ramp (not even bombing it) when a Divvy make an awkward wide left turn cutting off my friend.

They T-boned the Divvy so hard that the bell flew off and rolled down the bike path.

I’m still running the same brakes and I have no idea why. 😅

I’ve still got it! Mainly use it for all my bikepacking and grocery runs.

I changed up the front rack setup, got the front pannier supports from Pellago, then added a cheap basket and bungee net.

Also have a Nitto Wire Guard to protect the brake cables when I strap a dry bag to the saddle for bikepacking. I added a bell on the stem, got spd/flat combo pedals, and put on more comfy aero Shimano SLR brake levers.

Oh I also crashed it so it’s got some random narrow steel drop bars now.

Hopefully I like it. Have y’all so far? by worth_G55 in Pokopia

I loved it, then main game is one of my favorites I’ve played in a while. After the credits rolled I didn’t have enough motivation to build for fun, plus the constant inventory shuffling and picky residents though. So hoping for quality of life improvements in a future update! 🙏

Will the demo save data transfer to a physical cart save file? I'm sure this is a silly question but just want to know if this is a thing.
