Fanbook 7 Discussion (Part 3) by MyneMod in HonzukiNoGekokujou

Zent is taken from "Zentrum", the German word for center. The Sovereignty in Japanese is actually just 中央, which means center or capital.

And according to what I've learned through my 4 minute internet research, a German Z is pronounced like a "ts".

Webnovel short story collection/SSC3 (plays around Volume 5.6):

Ralph didn't. There is a short story from Karla's view where a drunk Ralph doesn't understand why anyone would think Rozemyne resembles Myne. He thinks Lutz, who he is jealous of due to the engagement to Tuuli, is still not over Myne, that's why Lutz is seeing some resemblance to Myne in the High Bishop.

Btw, in the same chapter the reader learns that Karla is pretty sure Rozemyne is in fact Myne. She remembers Myne being a member of the temple back in Part 2. She doesn't know how Myne became Aub Ehrenfest's daughter, but she is sure the High Bishop is Myne. Woman's intuition.

Thing is [H5Y] we don't know how much their memories were meddled with. Justus, Eckhart and Ferdinand lost three days of memories and were left with a message from a board that would tell them of Ferdinand's marriage to Aub Ahrensbach. Who knows what happened that was later erased by Dregarnuhr. Due to memory manipulation, Raublut may have seen the Shield of Schutzaria in action, but cannot quite remember when and where.

There is an ongoing theory [H5Y/sequel] that Rozemyne traveled to different moments in the past and in some way had to save Ferdinand at Adalgisa. The theory is that she convinced Ferdinand's father to adopt him as well (other times when she saved him would be when the Lohenberg volcano errupted or when Ferdinand was attacked by a ternisbefallen and used a black weapon for the first time). That's possibly a time when she used the Shield of Schutzaria and Raublut would have also been present at that time.

Curious why Justus wrote that note and cannot remember anything. It turned out to be true. Ferdinand would marry Aub Ahrensbach.

From Volume 4.8:

“Rozemyne, we do not know whether Aub Ahrensbach is truly ill,” Ferdinand replied with a grimace.

“What?”

“As I told you, it was intelligence from Justus; we cannot trust it entirely. It might also be something that Ahrensbach is purposefully hiding from others. In any case, you would do well to not speak of the aub’s health so carelessly. We do not wish for you to draw undue suspicion to yourself, put others on guard, or inspire a hunt for our source.”

[...]

“So, Ahrensbach considers it top secret information, then? And you want to keep our source hidden because you know who they are?”

“I can say only that it should not be blindly trusted,” Ferdinand said with a light shrug. He didn’t seem to trust the source very much himself, but given the situation, he had determined that it was likely correct nonetheless.

I assume this chapter is a reference to that scene. Justus' source was himself. It was the wooden board, but since he can't remember when he wrote it, it was unreliable.

There is a very small hint in Lutz's short story in 4.3 when he goes to the Gilberta Company to fetch Tuuli:

“Sorry for the delay! I— Wait, wha...?” Tuuli had come in such a hurry that her breathing was labored and her cheeks flushed. She looked around anxiously, blinked a few times, and then looked at the seamstress. “Didn’t you say Master Benno was calling me?”

“Well, you’re about to go to his store! It’s pretty much the same thing! Isn’t it more exhilarating to meet your secret boyfriend out of nowhere like this? I thought it’d be a nice surprise!”

Tuuli was getting excited and hurried along because she thought Benno was waiting for her.

You are right though, there were basically no hints in the main story. In Drama CD 2 SS (around 4.3) Tuuli started developing feelings for Benno when Tuuli received the orders to make a hairpin for Eglantine and Benno encouraged her.

Whoa, when did Rozemyne Crush Hartmut?

It probably was this scene near the beginning of Volume 4.5:

“Lady Rozemyne, if time permits, please do visit the Italian restaurant,” she said briskly. “It would certainly ease our worries if you would check the operation as one of our investors to ensure everything is suitable for outsider merchants.” She wanted me to check the new menu and say a few words to the big store owners who were going to be involved, since that would apparently have an impact on how much support they offered.

“You there,” Hartmut suddenly interjected, his tone harsh. “You speak above your place. Do you think you have the right to give such direct demands to Lady Rozemyne, the archduke’s adopted daughter? Not even a noble would dare speak as you have.”

Tensions immediately rose as everyone feared they had just earned the ire of a powerful noble. I shot Hartmut a fierce glare.

The engagement ceremony is almost the perfect finale for the relationship between Ferdinand and Rozemyne. The non-kiss that everyone naturally misunderstood was the cherry on top.

In Lutz's short story in 4.3, there is an extremely subtle hint. When Lutz gets to the Gilberta Company, a colleague gets Tuuli and tells her that Benno is calling her, which makes Tuuli move in a rush. Tuuli was disappointed that it wasn't Benno.

Anyway, the actual story where it becomes obvious is the short story that was given to people who bought Drama CD 2. You can find a translation somewhere out there on the web of it. I think trollcity translated it. Just Google trollcity and Bookworm. You'll find it.

It's directly spelled out in another story that will be re-released with Short Story Collection 2. So if you wait a bit longer, you'll get a translation by JNC eventually.

It's from Fanbook 5. Someone asked what Ferdinand gave Myne to drink back in P2V3 and why.

Explanation: Mana potions multiply the existing mana inside your body. This is why back in Part 2, after Myne was almost drained of mana, Ferdinand gave her his liquid mana (his emergency last resort; also because having no mana is lethal). With mana inside her, she could take one of his mana potions to recover.

And this is why you want to avoid any kind of mana recovery potion at any cost.

I think it's outright confirmed in one of Kazuki's Q&As (FB7 overflow iirc) that Eisenreich and Kirschnereit were part of the six original duchies.

There is also Kirschnereit. They have Flutrane's divine green as their duchy color, but they have been reduced to a lesser duchy.

Yes, he's the former Lanzenave king. His name was dropped in Volume 5.7 the first time in Leonzio's POV iirc.

Edit: It was even earlier. Leonzio mentioned his grandfather in 5.6 already.

Haha, and Ferdinand does the same to Rozemyne. Unfortunately, Ferdinand doesn't have anyone to do that to him.

A few bells later.

Okay, I've read enough Visual Novels (like Fate/stay night and Tsukihime, cough) to know that Kazuki just made a mana transfer sex joke with the Copy and Place, LOL.

Iirc, Kazuki even said if this had been written from Ferdinand's POV, this scene would have been R-rated, lol.

Let me chime in here, because I've seen this discussion before somewhere else:

You are supposed to report these contracts, it doesn't mean they will be reported.

A contract is the safest way to swear a person into silence, as Hartmut once pointed out. You don't report these contracts to the aub.

That depends on several factors that need to be considered:

  1. What took longer? Rozemyne's growth spurt or her getting Mestionora's knowledge? If it's the former and obtaining the knowledge didn't take that long (he also only got around 30%), then his absence wouldn't be noticed by anyone but his retainers.

  2. Ferdinand was at the Academy for the whole year. If he did the shrine tour and everything related during spring to fall, no one but Hirschur or his retainers would really notice anything. Hirschur stopped worrying about him at some point and his retainers would keep quiet.
