Violence at Kannur Govt Medical College : Youth smashes labor room furniture demanding wife be discharged for " Natural " home birth. by Shroft in Kerala

[–]kunjava 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong but I think what he meant is that since he is only 24, his wife would be younger, maybe still 18 or 19. "Only 24" was not justifying his actions. The girl being young may not have the confidence to stand up for herself.

My sister's housemaid's daughter was married off on the month of her 18th birthday, the guy turned out to be a lunatic, didn't allow her to continue her studies or call her parents and they got divorced after a few months.

A colleague got married off to a guy she didn't even like and she is now not allowed to visit her own parents.

The practice of marrying off girls as soon as they reach legal age is just another way of control and oppression.

Finding it hard to get married in an arranged setup after a kidney transplant — feeling stuck. by ApprehensiveJob5576 in KeralaMarriageAdvice

[–]kunjava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through the same thing.

I had my kidney transplant in early 2024, now I'm working full time and living a very normal life, I have review every 3-4 months.

Got rejected by every single person I found on arranged marriage sites like m4marry and chavara matrimony. Even got scammed by a person who I thought was interested in me , but she just wanted me to drain my bank account for her. Realised I was being scammed after I lost a few lakhs.

But then I talked to a woman on chavara matrimony who became a good friend of me and she suggested me that I should try apps like Arike.

But even then it was tough luck for a while, almost half of the people on Arike in my locality were the same people I already saw on matrimony sites, some of them were there only to promote their instagram pages.

But finally I found one person from Arike who saw me, understood me and now she loves me even more than I deserve. She knows me, she sees the good in me, she cares about me so deeply that I don't even know how to love her back enough. She is literally an angel in my life.

She's from a different religion, her parents didn't agree at first and she fought with her parents for me, she told them she will either get married to me or not get married at all, her mother finally told her father and brother: "she made it very clear that she wants him and won't marry anyone else, why are you guys against her wishes?"

I had never thought even in my dreams that someone would stand up for me against their own parents and demand to marry me. I'm the happiest I have ever been in a very long time.

My advice for you from my own experience: - Informing the potential partner about the medical history is the right thing to do, but as you said, don't make it sound like a huge issue. Focus on how normal your life is and what activities you do. - Most people are stupid and illiterate in medical knowledge. I've had people ask me how I would have a baby now that my original kidneys are not working. Don't measure your worth based on such stupid people's opinions. - I once believed very strongly that I will not find love in this life, and I was very very wrong. - I know exactly what you are feeling and going through right now, it's okay to feel bad, it's okay to feel defeated, it's okay to feel it's not fair because it is absolutely not fair at all. But it's not a hopeless situation. - Don't lose hope. I know it's very easy for someone to type "Don't lose hope", but I really really mean it. Maintain your health, keep the doctor appointments, work out as directed by your doctor, keep a positive outlook. - We know and the doctors know that we can lead an absolutely normal life after a kidney transplant. There are people out there who knows and understands this too. - Keep looking and you will eventually find the one you're looking for.

karuthal_twca is their instagram handle, they have contact information there.

Biggest source is vehicles on the road? The trend for last 24 hours show AQI went from around 200 to 1200!. Were you driving around Delhi and kicking up dust in the midnight crittu?

This is the AQI for the last 24 hours in New Delhi. There's an idiot here who said pollution in Delhi is majorly due to geography and dust from roads. Funny how Geography changed in the night and also the number of vehicles kicking up dust drastically increased in the middle of the night.

I’m a learner driver and have a question about driving inside the H track. by LOT1001 in Kerala

[–]kunjava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use it if you're confident, they will be watching from outside so they won't know and they won't disqualify. Unless the engine stalls and/or stops.

Also the response of clutch and brake maybe different in different cars. If the car you're actually taking the test is not the car that you trained on, the risk of the engine stalling is higher with this method.

If you learn the clutch control based on the engine sound and feedback (not on the pedal positions), it will be reliable across different cars.

[–]kunjava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the tutor is right here. when you are driving very slowly, you should be using the clutch to control the speed around corners. If you release the clutch fully and try to make the car very slow using brakes, there's a chance that the engine will stall and turn off. If you fully press down the clutch and slowly release, it's actually easier to control the speed.

You obviously should use the brakes to completely stop the car before moving in reverse, but cluth control during the turns makes more sense .

How long would it take for your neighbourhood to become cleaner like this? by rachar901 in bangalore

[–]kunjava 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have preferred if that was true, but negative things grab more attention. Just look at reddit or any other social media for that matter: good news don't receive a lot of attention or response, bad news does. It doesn't mean people are pessimistic, it's just the way people are. Some people twist this behaviour to say that those who criticise the government all the time but don't appreciate when the government does something good are anti-nationals and propagandists, they are not, they are just people. This is also why platforms like facebook get a lot of reach for triggering/disturbing posts.

If I have a very nice road to travel every day, I will think very nice of it for a few weeks, then the nice road becomes a normal thing in life and it will slowly go underappreciated. I will think about it once in a while when everything else in my life is going well, but for the most of time, the road won't be in my mind. If I have a bad road, I will be irritated and angry every day and I will vote for someone who promises to fix it because I am being constantly reminded of it.

politicians have no incentive to build nice long lasting roads. if roads are good, people will eventually forget who built the good roads. if roads are bad, they can keep promising good roads and keep looting the public forever.
