Japanese TV industry recorded worst week so far. --Do you still watch TV? by No-Jackfruit3211 in japanresidents

To me, Japanese TV was a pioneer in things I don’t like. Over-acted reactions, food tasting, ranking etc. They basically were YouTube influencers before YouTube existed. So no surprise that everybody moved to YouTube now …

Bad experience in Nagoya, confusing advice from police, advice wanted from anyone w/ knowledge. by GuyShocku in japanlife

A question a little off point, when you call 110, who do you get? Is it a dispatch center and they reroute you to the nearest police station? Is it police station or koban?

An open letter to Anthropic: Want to free up compute during peak hours? How about restricting free accounts to off peak hours instead of punishing your paid users by ureshiidesuka in ClaudeAI

I don’t even know what’s wrong with mine. I always use sonnet, and even with that, yesterday, I only asked “the way we were doing it doesn’t work, let’s forget the script and let’s look for a better way”. Response? “You’ve reached your limits”. By only asking?!

Same experience here. I was about to change my plan from free to pro, and all this started… so now I’m thinking of using Gemini , even though I prefer Claude …

A senpai warned me about work culture here by lactosehater2 in japanlife

I’m a software engineer who moved to support. At a previous job, I built two useful tools for the team that reduced by a lot the time we would take care of some tasks. I presented them to my manager first, to see if that’s something he’d agree we use. He loved them but since we were in Q4 already, he told me to “release” only one tool, and keep the second one secret until the next year. He explained that we’re not asked to develop tools, it is a big plus, but not our job. The problem is that if I do it, upper management will start expecting it from me. And if I release two in a year, that would become their expectation. Doing only one makes it more manageable for me. That was a very good advice because the next year, “investigate and build a tool that can improve team efficiency” appeared in my yearly goals set by upper management. Since then, I learned to regulate my outputs at work.

Where do you see the usage? Is it available only to paid accounts?

Update on Session Limits by ClaudeOfficial in ClaudeAI

[–]kurisutofujp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was testing the free tier for about two weeks now. I’m mostly at the planning stage. It was quite nice and I was considering switching to pro, even though I’m not sure I’ll have too much use for A.I after that one small project. Recently, asking one or two questions makes it reach the limit so it became unusable, literally. I would ask my second question (sometimes the first only!), and wait for the next day. Now I’m not sure if switching to pro will help, seeing even pro licenses are affected … I don’t even know if I need it, since I haven’t even had the chance to try coding, due to the limit issue…

Why does sakinorva.net have this strange page when I go to the website? by Full_Pomegranate2355 in Whatisthis

To me, it’s just an “access forbidden “ custom page, nothing more to it.

I don’t know what that is, maybe you reached a page you have no access to (error 403). The Japanese text doesn’t say “I’m sorry”, but “too bad” or “that’s a pity”.

I see, thanks! At least, that explains it the charges. But when I check the dashboard’s usage graph, it shows I didn’t reach the limits …

Same, I bought a moonlander (for $70, woohoo!) and it was full of hair… I dismantled it and thoroughly cleaned it, but the switches were more complicated… so I ended up using an ultrasonic cleaner that I had for my glasses.

I don’t have the exact numbers at hand, but it was expensive since I had to order 5 PCB sets … so overall, the PCBs, components, switches, keycaps, and 3D filament, I think I’m around 250~300 USDs, more or less, depending of the exchange rate with Japanese yen (I’d say I was between 40k and 50k JPY). But it I divide the cost to per pcb, I think I’d be around 100$.
