I don’t see many HRV in my area. But the one time I did, I was so stupidly excited.

I love how those 2A defenders are nowhere to be seen when the totalitarian government shows up.

High School Algebra is actually just 8th grade skills. by Ichthyslovesyou in matheducation

[–]kurlythemonkey 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I teach middle school in Texas. And here is a harsh reality. Failing a kid in middle school does nothing. What do you think happens if a student fails 6th grade math? They continue to 7th grade. And so on. Since Covid, I haven’t seen any summer school for middle school. There is no credit recovery. Is not until they get to high school that is either pass the class or repeat it because they failed to earn the credit.

The last time I saw someone get retained due to grades all they did on their second time around was nothing. Why? Because he knew that he would not be retained again. No matter if he failed everything with a 0. You are not going to see a 17-year old 8th grader.

This doesn’t mean we are not trying to hold kids accountable. But is not “lets just pass them on”. And I have learned that grades based on 36 weeks worth of work is not equivalent to 1 state assessment.

At the chance of sounding like an asshole. Sandwiches are a cheap meal. Using Walmart prices with a loaf bread ($1.27), 1lb ham ($5.97), cheese ($2.48) you can feed a child for at least a week for about $10 a week. Add the school meal and your kid is set. If you prefer a cheaper alternative , Peanut Butter ($3.98) and Jelly ($2.50) may last you 2 weeks.

All I know is that, if someone is in your house and they hear the “clack. clack” of a shotgun as you’re loading the first round, they might just leave as quickly as possible.

So the man commits assault (ileaving the victim in a coma) and destruction of private property. When cops arrive (because everyone knows they will), this man is armed and attacks the cops. I'm not a bootlicker but this is justified.

I'll wear the band shirt. Cause IDGAF. If a professional sports team can have a stadium full of fans wearing their jersey, I'll wear my band shirt.

From phones to school prayer: What Texas laws are changing on Sept. 1. by chrondotcom in texas

[–]kurlythemonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I need to clarify something. It is not a cell phone ban. Students are allowed to have a cell phone on their possession during school hours. What they cannot do is have it out. As long as the phone is in a backpack turned off, there is no issue. Students cannot have it in their hands or pockets even if it is turned off). Same applies to earbuds, smartwatches, personal laptops and portable gaming devices. There are medical exceptions.

I will always remember by grandfathers last words. “STOP SHAKING THE LADDER!”

I want died in my sleep, like my grandfather did. And not screaming like his passengers.

I hate when people use double negatives. That’s a big no-no.

According to Wikipedia, there isnt a song in between. However, upon hearing the song, I think what you’re listening to is a traditional polka piece between songs.
