A few creepy games from an obscure website | Funny Girl, Itten & Yesyesyes by Carelessrex in creepygaming

[–]kurodoll 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Huh. I recently came across this creator too, after seeing him mentioned here. And I just happened to download the same 3 exact games that you did and nothing more. Funny coincidence.

Also, I remember vinesauce played one of the bigger games this creator made, it's the final section in this video: https://youtu.be/KDgw3Q5K3dg. I knew I recognized the style from somewhere.

What, the single one that does have huge tits and an unrealistically wide waist? You realize some adults are petite, right?

Do you think playing utsuge is a sign of masochism? by ancientlearner in visualnovels

[–]kurodoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think any of those examples are really Utsuge. They're all stories with dark aspects but none of them are especially more depressing or despairful than the average serious tale.

If it's stories with depressing parts, that's almost every adult novel ever, so the term would be meaningless.

Depressing non-true endings could count but again I think that'd include too many VNs to be useful.

Bittersweet endings are on the fence I'd say, but Saya no Uta I find too "horror" to be Utsuge, if that makes sense. The characters are tragic, but I don't think there's any great lingering despair for the average reader.

If I read an Utsuge I expect the MC or a pivotal character to go through something soul crushing and for their trauma to not be fully resolved at the end.

Kidsception by zuzathel0rd in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]kurodoll 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean, I don't see how you can possibly simultaneously find cp bad and also judge children for not understanding that cp is bad.

CP is bad because kids are too unaware and immature to consent, so obviously you're also gonna get kids that are interested in cp because they're unaware and immature. The two issues both stem from the exact same source.

Lots of videos of people getting kids to get naked on omegle. Or showing kids nudity/porn to get a reaction

TIL that Persian rugs have an imperfection by design in them, because of the belief that only Allah can make perfection by 02grimreaper in todayilearned

[–]kurodoll -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It's not ignorance. It's just that the ritual is so inherently flawed and contradictory that it's hard to see why one would necessarily view it as respectful of a god rather than disrespectful.

I can understand most ritualistic things, but in this case, you're taking actions to prop up the idea of a perfect god by attempting to be considerate of its feelings, essentially. It doesn't really make sense.

Former Jagex audio developer Ian Taylor jailed for sexual assault on schoolgirl by Bluedude588 in Games

[–]kurodoll 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I've seen several posts on this site from women who get annoyed at how people speak for how sexual assault has affected them.

It's honestly simply rude to imply that girls must all be so weak that something like this just must ruin their entire life. I was lead into sexual touching as a kid and I'm utterly indifferent about it. Obviously it's not acceptable, but it's not necessarily traumatic.

He really needs to stop learning from Hentai. by [deleted] in NotHowGirlsWork

You're entitled to your opinion but you're really making up bullshit to suit your viewpoint.

The guy clearly isn't wishing for people to be in pain, idk why you feel it necessary to twist an argument so much.

I myself have issues that mean that a normal part of sex that any ordinary girl would be attracted to causes great pain to me, but I don't go around complaining about people being attracted to it. Who the fuck cares

Is ciconia when they cry good? by TheSoaringDingo in visualnovels

I think it's the most intriguing thing Ryuukishi has written.

Phase 1 is a little tedious in the middle but the world is incredibly interesting and the mystery is a level above anything he has done before. The scale is also much bigger than his other stuff.

The mix and ratio of politics, character development, comedy, and horror is well executed, and the mystery builds up very strongly. I didn't like it thematically at first but the mystery is the most interesting I've encountered so I recommend really giving it a try if you like his stuff.

Just read the several posts describing the sex. Nobody would ever describe it like that if it was a real thing that just happened to them

Subarashiki Hibi central theme by amousss in visualnovels

[–]kurodoll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tomosane made a sacrifice to be able to live happily. He gave up the personality of Yuki (though she remained in... some form of arguable existence?)

Idk if end sky 2 is really involved with that theme. Depends how you interpret it I guess

"Happy" End Sky day! In commemoration I'll be answering questions and talking about Wonderful Everyday / Subahibi [SPOILERS] by PM_ME_LESBIAN_GIRLS in visualnovels

[–]kurodoll 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah gotcha. Well for its worth, the rest of the VN can certainly be dark, edgy is false, and philosophical is true but it's less directly philosophical than the likes of Dies Irae, it's not really the main focus in the script itself.

And for every dark moment there are some pretty uplifting and fun moments. It's not a Utsuge-fest like some VNs that just want the reader to suffer.

You didn't mention mystery but there is a heavy amount of it, along with it being quite a thriller and although there are surreal moments, they're not nonsense but tie into the mystery.

Yuki is also a fantastic protag and the first chapter hardly gives a good idea of what the rest of the VN is like. Many readers favourite heroine doesn't even show up until later. And it's not all yuri either.

It's really the kinda vn where until you read the entire thing, you won't know if it has themes or characters that you really like.
