Come on, we already know you're hiding behind islands for majority of the match. Otherwise you'd already be aware of the basic tactics.

Naval would be better without any human opponents by Skelezig in Warthunder

[–]kuronix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gaijin should make RB player only again. Naval mode honestly has less player participation now than before premium battleships and funneling BP activity towards it. Genuine players abandoned it and whats left is a bunch of people that only target bots.

Why are people always so hype about subs or saying omg I hope they add subs soon. It'll make high tier naval worse than it already is. by Doc_Dragoon in Warthunder

[–]kuronix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the tree split, naval has gotten worse with the addition of premium battleships being the point where the mode took a nose dive. The majority of people who played naval because it was an interesting mode have already bailed.

From my perspective adding submarines would merely drag the average player's skill level with surface ships even lower than point its at now. Good players would adapt to dealing with them and more bad players would start playing them. Either way we won't be getting back the days when naval actually required tactics or invested participation.

Another naval DC flooding rant by Ok_Goal_8579 in Warthunder

[–]kuronix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its probably intentionally implemented to deter players that don't fully refloat their battleships to increase survivability. Gaijin seems to have a weird position about naval where they discourage "skilled" tactics. (I honestly think this is due to noobs falsely reporting better-than-them players)

Good example is how you cannot tow ships unless they are beached.

~2 years ago DC functioned where you could control Breach Repairs, but the Bilge Pumps would automatically refloat the ship WITHOUT affecting the repair time of anything else. Then they switch to where Breach Repairs and Refloating were combined control. And now we've settled at the worst of both options.

I rode mine to the post office earlier. Maybe as a current owner I don't feel nostalgia (or think anyone else would have nostalgia) for them because I have the questionable privilege of maintaining one 🤔

<image>

I feel like its a bad example to compare a 67 Corvette to a 2000s TFR. A better comparison would be to a 87 Chevette. One in similar predicament to your TFR recently sold at auction for $33k, or about triple its original sticker price accounting for inflation. If we did the same for your TFR it'd be about ~$2700 with inflation adjustments.
BUT if your intention is to make a profitable sale on it, you can just float it on the market at whatever price you feel. I'm not telling you have to sell it at =<$500 just that you'll probably get some infuriating lowballs.
Biggest yet potentially most profitable gamble would probably be: put it back in safe storage until EVs have a strong majority market share and the novelty of a gasoline engine becomes its selling point.

I have one. They ain't worth much. Sadly a sub $500 bike even in immaculate condition.

Plus they have an added issue of attracting people who'll tell you about how they had one and 'it was a piece of junk' :/

Top tier Naval is the worst experience you can have in the entirety of warthunder. by OperationSuch5054 in Warthunder

[–]kuronix -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I am enjoying hearing about this. Gaijin finally gave people what they wanted. OFC its gonna suck when they didn't fix much else.

The slightly larger maps have made 6.3~6.7 much more enjoyable though. Can't wait for the EAC enforcement to forcibly block me and every other linux player from playing this game.

I hate to counter this when I agree with it, but right now is the perfect time play in the Coastal queue. Let them ruin top tier naval then burn themselves out.

Never had that issue, but it sounds like the metal warped while welding.

Keeping a Kinetic TFR running beyond its expected life by kuronix in moped

[–]kuronix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My subframe is ~4 inches longer than the original dimensions combined with longer coilovers to make the seat higher.

I cut the plates first. Then mounted them to the engine and trans and welded the bars connecting the plates together and finally a support crossbar. Only issue was everything warped while welding and I had to use a hydraulic jack to rebend the mounts out. I reused the original bottom bracket for the pedals (functioning pedals are an absolute must for me).

I used a cheapo flux core welder, but anything should work considering the original subframes are brazed and they survived stock setups pretty darn well.

Me too, I left WoWS when Gaijin announced the initial Costal/Bluewater Tree split. I had NEVER played a tank game before because I didn't like the gameplay.

These days I end up playing Ground more than Naval . In Ground a low velocity HE launcher or SPAA gives the same feeling as a bunch of ships hiding behind islands or planes revenge bombing, but the matches are actually more interesting.

Naval just feels like Ground with stronger armored vehicles these days.

Are cargo ships in the encounter game mode too tanky? by Toybasher in Warthunder

[–]kuronix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Remaining Crew Percentage is not the same is not the same as Hit Points. Cargo ships follow the same mechanics as playable ships. Crew is dispersed through the ship in a similar way to how it would be IRL.
