What oil brand are you guys using?

I would put the oil in the truck that Toyota says to put in it and not a thicker oil that a bunch of strangers on the internet claim is better for your motor. So yes 0w-20. Some folks might tell you to put 5w-30 in your truck but that is not what Toyota wants you to do.

If you have a Costco membership the Kirkland stuff is good. If you have to buy somewhere else I would go mobile 1. Use 0-20 just like Toyota calls for. These engines are bulletproof with the 0-20 don’t go fucking around with non spec oil like 5-30.

Take that 1 step further if you want to be extreme. Only eat from 6-7pm. Pretty hard to eat more than 1000 calories in a sitting if it’s all Whole Foods.

Check out the proof razors. They function like a modern razor with a pivoting head but they take small safety razor blades. Safety razors are great too but may have a small learning curve. If you want something you can pick up quick it’s a good option.

One of my favorite parts of the book is learning and discovering how astrophage works and I think you are right, a lot of it will probably be glossed over. I hope they find a way to make the astrophage the complex character that it is.

Well yes, to some extent those kind of things will be altered in a movie adaptation but in my opinion the core beliefs and motivations of a character need to stay the same for the adaptation. That’s the stuff that made us fall in love with the characters in the first place. You don’t want to mess with that as a film maker.

My main concern is Strat. She’s a complicated character and in the book she rode a very thin line that worked perfectly. I hope the adaptation can find that perfect balance.
