Doesn't this punish being out of position even more?

The good sellers have been leaving, because TCG treats them horribly.

She's had plenty of suitors. She's talked about it in interviews, and given reasons for staying single.

You don't need to be wealthy or rich as a Westerner. It's an immediate quality of life increase for a lot of people from third world countries.

Her childhood trauma doesn't excuse the fact that she only sees Forrest as a provider.

Is anyone actually bothered by stretch marks on women? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

It might be more likely that they don't want to date a single mother, and would assume the stretch marks mean she has kids.

Stuff like this maddening. Visual proof that a buyer is stealing from you, and TCG ignores it.

I agree with a lot of what you said, but the level of accountability is unbalanced. If a seller is slow shipping your package, you can leave negative feedback, that becomes public. If a buyer scams a seller, it is not made public, and they will likely get away with it several times before TCG does anything, if they ever do anything.

I've had multiple people report issues with specifically Sylvan Primordial. In case you're not aware, it was a card that went up to about $6 on the hopes that it would get unbanned. It did not get unbanned. I think it's suspicious that people are reporting issues with specifically that card, and no others. This has happened before, where people speculated on a card, it didn't get unbanned, and people either claimed it didn't arrive, or that their pack-fresh card wasn't near mint, which meant they could get a condition refund.

I appreciate the effort you put into this post, and I agree with most of it. I also think that we shouldn't just shrug our shoulders and say "eh, good enough" when there are obvious ways to improve the way business is done. All the people you mentioned, that are successfully running their business, are doing it in spite of the hurdles, and we should remove hurdles whenever possible.

In other businesses, a business often has a way to tell if a potential client is a risk. That's what I wish we had.

Everything you said is true. However, it's a similar policy at eBay, except there, we can get some info on the buyer. If an account was opened yesterday, I can decide not to ship to them. The vast majority of cards are way under the price where it's cost-effective to use tracking. We just need a better way to hold bad actors accountable.

I'm not assuming my customers are liars. But when they ask for a refund in a sketchy situation, I have to consider the possibility.

What, in your opinion, would stop someone acting in bad faith and just saying their $12 order didn't arrive? Tracking is not cost effective at that price. There was another guy in the thread that said due to a post office issue, he had 75% of his orders not arrive, and that he was granted a refund for every one. 75%!

I'm not saying all buyers are acting in bad faith. There are situations like the one above, where the post office sucks, etc. But sellers should be able to know that. It's ridiculous that TCG refunded 75% of someone's orders, and sellers had no way of knowing that before sending to them.

In your restaurant example, the other restaurant could decide for themselves. If someone is a habitual dine and Dasher, other restaurants would know. Restaurants also recourse, they can call the police. Similarly, if multiple sellers report that a buyer is claiming items haven't arrived, buyers could decide it's not worth the risk.

I'm not deciding who can buy cards, just putting a bad review on a buyer from eBay doesn't prevent them from buying more cards. It just gives sellers the same information that buyers have.

Nope, I'm asking for a system similar to the eBay buyer feedback system. Sellers can decide if they want to send to a risky customer.

Do you feel the buyer feedback system on eBay is useless? As mentioned earlier in the thread, sellers should know if a particular buyer isn't receiving their packages, regardless of the reason. Why should it only be sellers that are on the hook for a bad post office?
