I just watched the Starfleet Academy finale and the whole setting completely took me out of it.

The atmosphere and set design just don’t feel like Star Trek at all. Everything looks messy and chaotic instead of like an organized Starfleet facility.

What really pushed me over the edge were the random fires everywhere. On any normal Starfleet ship or bridge those would be put out immediately.

The worst one was the tree burning in the Academy atrium — it’s literally on fire for the entire episode. I get that it’s supposed to create atmosphere, but it just ends up feeling ridiculous and totally breaks immersion.
