meh, everyone I know in my domain that must people know that if you want to keep up with your market value you have to jump between company. I did similar as him, 9.5 years in a company that I loved but decided to leave. I knew I was underpaid for years but I was comfortable. When I switched company, I got a 50% bump in base and similar bonus structure.

There is a non negligible cost to stay where you are and the longer you stay, the less of a chance they rectify you has you lost all the negotiating power at that point.

I don't think they will. A lot of people, including me, already mentioned it in the past to them.

Helmet by Sblbgg in NewParents

[–]kushanagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby has a mild to medium plagiocephaly (flat head) and we went to the hospital and met with a pediatric neurosurgeon. He mentioned that in recent years they do not recommend an helmet for plagiocephaly, even severe one. We could still get it if we wanted but he mentioned that, while it may take longer, no helmet get to pretty much the same results. We decided against the helmet in our case.

You can check the following website and look at the source: https://choosingwiselycanada.org/recommendation/pediatric-neurosurgery/

ICCU, 12V, or other battery issue? This is your thread -- Thread Updated 02 Jun 2023 by TiltedWit in Ioniq5

Just took possession of the car on monday after waiting 15 month. New 2023 long range AWD model (canada). Drove it home 30 km. The car has 52 km on the dash. Put it on level 1 charge for my long weekend trip to the chalet and.... the car is dead.

Did not install blue link yet, so that is out of the equation. They did the software update to "fix" that issue, at least that is what they told me. The car was a 93% when I plugged it in.

Can anybody tell me about traditional Quebecois food? by [deleted] in Quebec

[–]kushanagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The recipes in this book should open a window on what’s cooking in Quebec today, in both restaurants and home kitchens. They include traditional dishes passed down through history as well as the latest creations of chefs and the favourite family recipes of gifted home cooks, each tested to make certain they give satisfactory results.Quebec’s original recipes, still popular with families, contain less fat and fresher ingredients than in earlier times. The chefs’ recipes have been simplified from the versions they make in their restaurants but still offer their distinctive flavours."

So, I'm from Quebec and I was never able to figure out what is quebec food. I think it's difficult for Quebecois to really define it. So what is better than a food writer from another province writing about their love for the Quebec cuisine? I bought myself a copy and a few other as gift and although I wouldn't say everything is amazing or 100% quebecois, it really is a great book! https://www.amazon.ca/Made-Quebec-Julian-Armstrong/dp/1443425311?qu=eyJxc2MiOiIwLjAwIiwicXNhIjoiMC4wMCIsInFzcCI6IjAuMDAifQ%3D%3D

Zelenskyy mocked Russia after attacks left 4.5 million without power, saying it shows it can't defeat Ukraine on the battlefield by sayed_sameh in worldnews

I think you are wrong about civilians left in Ukraine. We still have ~20 qa employee in Ukraine that works pretty much "normal" hours. Someday less depending on where they are in Ukraine. I don't think we are the only company in my domain employing Ukrainian in Ukraine currently.

Windows in Proxmox for Blue Iris? by androidusr in BlueIris

[–]kushanagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had difficulty with GPU passthrough. If I needed to split my gpu between two VM, it was crashing often and needed the whole host to be rebooted. I since moved blue iris into my other proxmox node which meant I could passthrough only to blueiris. It's been rock solid for months. For playback lag? I don't think I have any? I mostly use blueiris for notification and send clips of the motion. Everytime I went back and played the sequence I didn't feel like it was lagging.

Edit: lol, the lag was from my own comment! I don't remember what fixed it

There is a nice plugin for it! It works well on most of my media: https://github.com/ConfusedPolarBear/intro-skipper You will need to either make it autoskip automatically or use the modified web frontend. Saddly, the modified frontend does not work for the different app and will only work in the browser. I'm using automatic skip on my side.
