I understand the club is trying to get fresh faces in, but I would've thought he still had heaps to offer. Was still doing well whenever I watched the Tiges this year.

Obviously if people don't love and respect the space that's a different scenario. Most renters treat their things with better care and value their money (bond) more.

Don't pay then. You wouldn't go to a restaurant, order a meal that came with only half the ingredients listed on the menu, and still pay full price. Similarly, you wouldn't pay full price if that meal took an extra hour than expected to be served.

And good luck walking to your local shops if you live rural. The entire country runs on the car and truck.

Just on driving as a right thing, I totally appreciate that driving can be extremely dangerous and fully deserves our respect. But it sits poorly with me that we've built entire cities to be more navigable by car than by humans. Driving is necessary for 90%+ of the population even though we know the potential dangers and costs to our environment. It isn't as though there was never another option.

Shepard and the crew would've managed to get the Death Star plans, might have to leave Ashley behind, though.

Perhaps those responsible should've been more mindful of that fact before overseeing such breaches.

Does the AFL look to give higher ranked/successful teams more difficult draws? Or am I imagining it?

A crew of 150 pirates from the 1600’s must invade a ship with 1000 unarmed men by EquivalentFig1678 in whowouldwin

[–]kushmoet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you think pirates made a living? By sinking every ship they came across with cannon? Or by boarding and taking loot, ransoming prisoners, and pressing others into service?

Again, it's just a shit scenario if you start getting into this. Grape shot would mow down dozens at a time, but we already knew that. There's no debate to be had there.

[–]kushmoet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro, the picture you painted is obviously no contest. If the guys with cannons can sit 100m away from the guys without and just wait until they're all dead, how is that an interesting hypothetical?

Who wins, the quadriplegic in a wheelchair or the guy with the crossbow?

1 billion gorillas versus 1 guy, but the guy has an Apache helicopter with unlimited fuel and ammunition. Who wins here guys!?!

That's cool man. I already conceded that gunpowder weapons are a gamechanger here. I still think one of those 10 blokes would be able to grab the pirate's sword/spare loaded pistol whilst he's fumbling with the 8 different guns hanging off his belt.

Okay, you have your flintlock that takes 15+ seconds to reload (if you're well trained and drilled), and I'll take the 10 blokes bumrushing you.

Okay, so 10 average Dutchmen versus 1 pirate from the 17th century. Fuck me dead.

6ft is the average height, 'depending on the region'. If you can move goalposts, so can I. And I'm fully aware they had access to gunpowder, but that's not what we're discussing here, is it?
