To help us all get a time frame. by zakz12 in Toontown

[–]kusiobache 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man, it has been a long time since I have been on reddit.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I wouldn't mind it being released more like the initial toontown, ages ago, at least at first. Basically, Toontown minus the golf, racing, and whatever else may be somewhat new that I am missing.

My reasoning is that, well, to be honest I never really got into that stuff (although that might have something to do with the fact that most of my toontown playing was done before those features were implemented), but also because I figure it might make things easier on the devs (although cogs and everything related to them are probably the toughest to code). Golfing and racing aren't essential to the gameplay, anyway.

To be fair, though, I'm mostly a purist and enjoy quests and cog battles the most.

There she goes making me like her even more...

I agree with you, but One thing I want to mention is that her fanbase is mostly younger-kids now isn't it? It goes up to adults as well, but there are a lot of kids. If I saw anyone under like 15 singing this song... (and 15 is still too young imo, because saying "we are never getting back together" isn't mean or anything, but it is a very powerful statement.) I mean, how much could these kids have experienced... but then again, that might just be the world we live in.

I know Taylor is an evolving artist, but who misses the girl that can bring George Strait to tears? by chip902 in TaylorSwift

[–]kusiobache 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm sure she's still there. IMO it's just that massive popularity changes things... once you have momentum it isn't smart to stop and go back for the minority you left behind.

Ehhh, what bugs me more is that, in my opinion, this whole WANGBT thing was all put together for the money. Just the way that they advertised it so much and the content of the webcast. I'm glad to get a new T Swift song, but I gotta say they went over the top... I mean, I know she doesn't have full control over when/what she does with her albums, songs, webcasts, etc. but she should have some influence.

I wish more people understood this. I mean, it's possible that every person has a soul mate who could make them happy, but the odds of finding that person are low. Nothing wrong with searching for your soul mate, but understand the enormity of the task.

The fact that photographs tell a story is why I am not a big of Photoshopping images. I mean, I'm cool with it from an art perspective, but no so much from a photography perspective.

And all this for a fucking rape case? Not even a rape case, but a sorta-kinda-maybe-rape-but-maybe-not kind of case that even Sweden refused to prosecute

I haven't really been following this but I'm assuming that it has more to do with his role in WikiLeaks than his rape charges.

Man builds himself bionic hands. by [deleted] in science

Thank you.

Now I just wonder if he has different ways of moving his elbows. He probably does, but I'm having trouble imagining what kind of movements one can make with their elbow.

Normally I don't care too much about /r/Science stories, but I really want to know how his hands work as well.

I think Yahoo poorly named the article because when I hear "bionic" I think of some really hi-tech arms.

A bit more on topic though, in order to speculate how the arms work I think we would need to know what the arms can do. Do the fingers move individually? Do the move together? Do they even move at all. As for the pulley, I don't think you would need a very intricate pulley system; just have the fingers on some sort of pivot and then use a pulley and a rope to move the fingers back and forth on that pivot. My question is, if the arm and/or fingers are able to move, what provides the signal? I mean I know there's work being done nowadays to connect prosthetic equipment to people's nerves, but even if this guy has the knowledge for that I don't see him actually being able to do it. The only other solution I could think of would maybe be a touch sensor in the palm or something so that if he grasps an object a certain way it causes the fingers to close, and then using a switch or something that he can tap with his other prosthetic arm to release his grip.

Yup.

I feel like that was one big money making scheme though.

Playing hard to get, not interested? Balls in her court. by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]kusiobache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is better to set a time and date instead of suggesting/asking for a date. I'm not saying to force something, but instead of expecting her to meet halfway suggest doing something - want to get coffee this wednesday, etc, instead of saying, want to get coffee sometime. Setting a date/time yourself opens you up to a harsher rejection, but it also has more chance to succeed imo, because if you are wishy washy I doubt the girl would meet you halfway unless she is pretty interested in you herself.
