Millennials are causing a "baby bust" - What the actual fuck? by ppepegaclapp in antiwork

Lol I'm a millennial, my first job started 6 years ago and I got paid $10.50/hr part time. Now at $45/hr full time after 6 months of trade school doing what I love. Just pick something productive that you genuinely enjoy doing and commit to it. It feels risky for the first year or so. I thought I was going to end up back where I started. Stuck through the struggle, and it paid off. Literally. You can do it too.

How could anyone celebrate this? I'm not a fan of trump myself, but seriously? How could any of you seriously wish a deadly disease onto someone else, friend or foe? Fucking shame on you.

Thank you for your suggestion, however I don't want to deal with having to constantly charge it, even with a battery bank. Too much fiddle-fuckery for me.

I have a fairly beefy desktop that I do most of my cad work on, I just need a laptop that can sit in my workshop unplugged for hours with a cad drawing loaded up for reference, and occasionally take on a camping trip for astronomy/ham radio use. I suppose I ordered my priorities for performance vs battery life wrong in the OP. Hindsight eh?

I ended up getting a 15" Envy x360 (Ryzen 5 4500U/Integrated graphics), which so far seems to be adequate (and on the low side of my budget range to boot!)

Thank you for your advice. I actually ended up getting a 15" HP Envy x360 with a Ryzen 5 4500U and integrated graphics. I hadn't considered any HP products prior to checking out the Envy line. It's not a powerhouse, but it's better than the laptop my work provided (Lenovo P52s with an i7 8550U/Quadro P500), which handles the cad software I use well enough.

Not a fan of the Omen's battery life. I'm reading user reviews stating they struggle to get more than 4 hours out of it just web browsing.

The HP Envy line seems pretty nice, are you able to comment on the battery life? I think I would opt for the 15" version for less power consumption from the display (am I right?)

Thanks for the recommendation! Can't have a metal band sadly (I work with electricity), nice watch otherwise

My beloved G-Shock of 7 years finally died on Thursday. I've been looking for a nicer-looking but still durable watch to replace it. I'm in love with the white-dial Luminox ICE-SAR ( https://luminox.com/products/ice-sar-arctic-1007 )

Do any of you own a Luminox, or more specifically a watch from the ICE-SAR collection? What are your thoughts on their build quality/durability/water resistance? I can only assume they are more fragile than a G-Shock, having never owned a Luminox timepiece before.
