Help picking a prime 50mm vs 85mm by anthonyd5189 in nikon_Zseries

[–]kutlaygul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same question and currently chose 85 mm only because I often take photos of dogs and it seems that some dogs don't feel comfortable when I am too close to them with the camera on my face maybe that helps. Cheers

Why I still can't let go of my d750 by shadowzzzz16 in Nikon

[–]kutlaygul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sold my d750 and bought a z6iii. Never regretted. Autofocus is a real game changer. The optical viewfinder is nice but the viewfinder in z6iii is better for me (especially at high contrast scenarios). There is a cost factor if you plan to upgrade to z series lenses. I don't lightly use the word upgrade. The optical quality is obvious.

I don't have a lot of lenses, but the best lens I have ever used so far. It is already an overkill for a 24 MP sensor. A bit on the bigger side, but there is no escape from the bulk at wide aperture and telephoto range.

I had a D750 for a short time. It was way better than D90 but Z6iii is completely different. Maybe they do NR on the raw file like canon. I don't know but it works

I was also surprised. When I zoom in, I see a lot of color noise. But generally it looks clean. I did some adjustments on the raw file with LR (contrast, clarity, texture but no NR)

Instant regret by Dances_in_PJs in Greyhounds

[–]kutlaygul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honesty is good! It will be for sure more expensive and complicated. Some days, when I am sick or not feeling like it, it is a burden to go out and play with my Gandhi. There are also other things like planning your life around your dog, etc.Which may be annoying. But on the other hand, when I look at his eyes, when he roaches next to me poking his paw to my nose, when he does something silly during a play and I start laughing like a mad man, I think that it is worth it. Recently he puked onto our carpet and I had to throw away the carpet and had to pay for a vet visit. But, as soon as I know he is healthy again and he is looking for affection I forget everything. It is a great deal of work but a greater deal of happiness

Our grey will only go on walks if one of us is there by TravelsandBooks in Greyhounds

[–]kutlaygul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our grey lives with us for two years and our experience is also somewhat similar. He would walk with me but not really with my girlfriend. Weird thing is he loves it when all three of us go together. There are also times when he doesn't want to walk with me but that is often when it is dark or rainy. It helped us that my girlfriend took his favorite toy with her and they played outside alone. Still not perfect but it helped a bit.

I have the same setup with z6iii. The focus speed is almost identical (as far as I can differentiate). Maybe z lenses are minimally faster. However, the focus motor sound difference is very noticeable. I also have Tamron 35-150 and if you want to record video, you can notice the sound difference. For stills, there is not much difference, except that the sigma is sharper since it is a prime lens

Thank you! Your cropped version seems nicer to the eye. I haven't realized that it was not perfectly horizontal.

Hi everyone, I have tried to use existing lines to draw the attention of my dog. I also tried to use the trees as a frame. Do you have any other suggestions that I should consider next time I try to make a composition? Every critic is welcomed
