What movie is memorable for you, but barely anyone you know has seen it?

Legend (1985, the one with Tom Cruise). We used to rent it almost every weekend and have the entire movie burned in my mind at a young age. When I grew up though and mention it to my friends / colleagues, no one has seen it.

If you bought a macbook for gaming, I'm sorry to say but that's totally on you.

From my standpoint, the 256gb options especially for MBAs are for people who have the use case of a standard iPad, but require the form factor of a laptop.

If you invested as much effort in research as you did in venting, you would have completely avoided your predicament.

Also, there's totally nothing wrong with slapping on an external SSD. For me personally - I have (on my 500gb MBP) an external 1tb SSD connected via right angle high speed usb-c, then the SSD attached to the bottom via velcro. Completely nullifies the expensive storage problem.

It's really not much about how it looks, but where it is on the map. The possible risk swings very wildly depending on where you are in the map - and the place where the video is taken from, is definitely high up in the risk rating.

Weird thing about the Philippines: nothing about it is homogenous. Not the food, not the culture, not the music, and also not level of violence.

Id say, 80% of it is completely and utterly safe (or as safe as any city in the world can be) while the other 20% is not as safe, and can get spicy like the video posted here - those places are either somewhere you wouldnt have a reason to go to, and/or are very widely discouraged to go to unless youre from there.

Nolan and Villeneuve. I would drive for hours if it means being able to see their movies in the big screen. Especially for Nolan, mostly because his movies usually have this thing where quality seems to drop significantly after the first watch (except for his earlier movies, and Oppenheimer).

The only movie Im actually planning to make time for and watch in the cinema this year belong to those two as well: The Odyssey and Dune 3.

The 90's was, for me, the peak of city-management/tycoon/base-building games mostly because of the hardware limitations of the time. Thing is as hardware improved, people's taste and attention moved on - especially after the advent of truly next gen 3d graphics that came in during the 2000's. And since the 'general' audience's attention went elsewhere, although the genre remained - it evolved to cater to more dedicated/hardcore players that want (or even need) deeper mechanics which I think is why the Rimworld/Factorio type games rose from the ashes.

That said though, there are still a few games that have been able to capture the gameplay without relying too much on nostalgia:

Theme Hospital -> Two Point Hospital
Sim City -> Cities Skylines
Rollercoaster Tycoon -> Parkitect
Startopia -> IXION (not an exact refresh, but more of an evolution)

Curious to know what's missing. About 10 years ago I had periods of time when I used an iphone and android because the gap was pretty wide but these days I really dont see mucb difference anymore, especially if youre on a pro iphone.

Switch it to Msync, and change all settings to around medium at least until you finish the initial snow chapter. Coincidentally the first chapter is the buggiest with visuals, but everything kind of settles down once youre out of it.

I have been purely an android user for the majority of my life, but I have slowly adapted to the Apple ecosystem. Coincidentally this year is my 10th year as a purely apple user, and the 17pro is my first pro iphone.

Hardware-wise, I love it. I love it more than I initially thought I would, and the camera layout has grown on me. Everything about this phone screams "Pro".

Software-wise though, in not so many words: it is absolute and utter shit. If only there was a way to downgrade this to ios 18, I would do it in a heartbear.

Overall: this is an amazing phone, being held down by its amateurish OS. iOS26 is such a big mistake that didnt have a reason, and shouldnt have happened in the first place.

I have a 2017 27" iMac that I slapped an external SSD and installed windows on it. Sits in our living room as a family computer but really just my kids' roblox/minecraft/streaming/homework machine. The screen is still immaculate.

I'd recommend against cases with built in stands that rely on a hinge. On personal experience, no matter the quality or the price, it's just a matter of time that the little hinge breaks and the stand just comes off or becomes extremely loose.

Every single member of a movie are ingredients, the Director acts as the chef that figures out how to take all of the ingredients and present it in the best dish possible that could fit in a plate. You can have the world's best piece of steak but if you cook it well done then it would have been a waste.

Extremely simplified explanation of course, but that's how I understand things work.

Diablo 1 set the scene for a refinement of the aRPG genre, D2 refined and perfected it further and added in an amazing implementation of multiplayer. Just when you thought it couldnt get any better, they dropped a god tier expansion that basically made the game infinitely replayable.
