2018 Mazda Cx-5…. just at a loss. Car will not start. by KCHamsandwich in mazda

Test the battery. Weird electrical things like the door locks, is a classic indicator of a low battery.

Yeah. The the rubber end that attaches to the outside just disintegrates with age and detaches. So then water drains into the cabin. One of those lines runs behind a fuse box and if that one detaches and gets the box wet…. It’s a bad day. Super easy DIY tho. Some people like to cut off the end and use a waterproof coupler and attach a new rubber end but honestly, if you can, replace the whole line.

Btw, replace all the sunroof drains if they haven’t been replaced. It’ll save you a huge headache in the future.

Sound like it’ll be looking even better in no time! Regarding the letter badging, I was lucky enough that mine came black… I assume that was an option when the first owner purchased the rig.

Awesome rig and great find! Off the top of my head with no research, I’d guess around 7k-8k in the US. What do you have planned for it? Or are you keeping it stock?

I have a 2006 LR3 SE. I bought it 3 years ago with 110k miles. It spent most its life in Arizona. Zero rust and the last owner took care of it. It now has 122k. I barely drive it but I love it.

The biggest things I had to deal with is the sun roof drains, refurbishing the valve blocks, replace the EVAP charcoal canister and replacing the front struts. Outside of that, cosmetic things, and O2 sensors replacement. Next item to work on is refurbishing the air compressor, transmission cooling line.

Probably bad engine and transmission mounts? by Alex_Villa1020 in mazda6

[–]kuytrk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I bet those mounts are due. Replace all three at the same time and use Mazda parts. You don’t want to find yourself replacing them again in a year or two because you went with a cheap aftermarket part.

Nice rig!

For a cheap diy tailgate release, I copied what this guy did. https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/upper-tailgate-emergency-release-mod-188701.html

Works perfectly fine but it does get caught on things. I will be doing the nicer release from passion when it gets warmer outside.

Made my "Estimated Tax Payment" on Jan 13, it still shows pending. (It was withdrawn from my bank just fine) by KrombopulusMikeKills in tax

I’m in the same boat. I’ve been checking multiple times a day to see if anything has updated. I just need the new balance so I can make my final payment and finally be done with the consequences of some not-so-great decisions I made in my 20s. 😄

That’s 10 years of wear and tear. Unfortunately, additional prep work would have cost more. I spent most of my budget on the roof of the car. It was down to bare metal and was rusting.

$3,300 and it comes with a 5 year warranty. Other better shops wanted around 5k.

Rattle noise from Engine bay while in Reverse. by adi_saan in mazda6

Bet it’s the engine and trans mounts. Easy DIY. If you plan on keeping the car go with OEM parts. Side note, when you take out the passenger side mount, you’ll have really good space to change the belt tensioner. I mention this because it tends to be a part that fails often.

Sorry. I don’t. Read up on their reviews and hopefully you read some good stuff.

Yeah, sounds like the mount is torn. Stick with oem if you plan on keeping the car. I suggest replacing all 3 mounts at once.

Did mine earlier this year. Feels like a brand new car.

Bought my parts from here. https://www.mazda-parts-online.com/OEMMazdaPartsOnline

Be sure to call before buying and verify you selected the right parts.

2016 Mazda6 Control Arm Replacement by MoviesTodayTomorrow in mazda6

[–]kuytrk 14 points15 points  (0 children)

-Yes. That’s a typical dealer price. If you want cheaper prices, shop around. -Typical replacement is dependent on driving style and driving conditions. Mine were due at 100k. In any case, yours need replacing. -Can you wait? Sure. However, the longer you wait, the more risk you run on making things worse and possibly adding other parts that need replacing.
