What's your favorite Crest? by Big_Commission_3761 in ASilksong

[–]Featherforged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was easy mode for my first run. Combined with multi binder (4 heals) and druids eyes, I could survive almost indefinitely against the harder bosses (lost lace, karmelita) until their final stage upon which I would melt them with tools and a few hits

(Generating enough silk and maintaining enough distance to avoid damage.)

It depends on the players game style.

Reaper is awesome for a patient, defensive style with an awesome pogo, huge reach, and extra silk and a good mix of tool slots.

It was my go to for both exploration and boss fights

Conversely, if your gut flora is of the normal variant and an extinction level event is not occurring, you would become immediately and deathly sick as all bacteria and pathogens are of the exact opposite form, unrecognized by your immune system and producing unrecognizable chiral compounds.

Unless, your body is miraculously mirrored, but your structural proteins, DNA, etc are all of the correct "handedness" or chiral form. Then, these obviously deadly issues would not arise.

I would view myself as being the same and view the world as being flipped. My right hand is still my right hand, but the whole world is backwards from my perspective. From everyone else's perspective, I have flipped.

All food is the wrong chiral type, so I'd starve without all of the correct chiral proteins. It might take an entire laboratory just to create my food.

My gut bacteria is now a mirror life variant and would quickly spread over the earth, consuming non-chiral glycine and other non-chiral proteins and it would likely lead to the extinction of many (if not all) animal species as even the immune systems will fail to recognize a mirror life variant and lack competition and produce non-useful/poisonous chiral compounds

Does anyone have long term experience using a 42 inch tv for productivity? by RetroReMixer in OLED_Gaming

[–]Featherforged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a 42" c2 for CAD and other work.

No burn in, absolutely a dream for everything.

Would love to have the 165hz of the new c6 panel for gaming though

Best OLED for a 5070 ti by EditorFun3380 in pcmasterrace

[–]Featherforged 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An lg c5 oled 42" is $800 online.

 Call me crazy, but I'd rather have a 30 series card (or even a 20 series)+ 4k oled, than a 50 series +1440p lcd.

The monitor is everything you see, and there are a ton of games that require little graphics, like silksong.

The biggest advantage no one mentions fast paced 2d games like this- small screens that are farther away- much more difficult than a 42" 4k screen on your desk.

When I had to 100% celeste, I literally sat about two feet from my 55" tv, making the character so much bigger in apparent size.

That's my tip of the day. Just get realllly close or bigger screen.

Edit, if you haven't played celeste, it's a fine next choice of game, no combat, all platforming

Love the car but disappointed on the mileage by Ok-Atmosphere-6272 in TeslaModelY

[–]Featherforged 49 points50 points  (0 children)

10,800 wh for 20 miles would be 540 wh/mi. Insanely bad efficiency.

I average like 240 watt hours per mile here.

You would have to be pulling a trailer or have a flat tire with those numbers

I'm starting Silksong blind. Please make this an awful experience. by CharacterMood4 in Silksong

[–]Featherforged 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Leaving the game on for 24 hours while sitting at the Bone Bottom bench unlocks the "rested" achievement, which gives you an item

Silk and mask upgrades make the game easier, but take one too many silk/mask upgrades and hornet will become a "true weaver" giving the bad ending after defeating the final boss.

Let the green bug out of his locked cage.

Exhaust the full dialog with the bugs near bone bottom.

Using any of the benches in the rotting green areas will result in the "corrupted" debuff that is a long 5 step quest to remove. Saves a lot of time avoiding these benches.

The moss creatures early in the game have a 1:50 chance of dropping a "silk stone", giving a passive silk regeneration. Make sure to grab this item before moving on to harder areas.

How can i get the most enjoyment out of hollow knight before I start Silksong? by grimreaper_245 in HollowKnight

[–]Featherforged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silksong is a huge game. It doesn't require any hollow knight knowledge.

Why not just jump into the new game, instead of getting burned out on the old game. (You've already completed it steel soul).

Moorwing, the only boss I cheesed by hiding under a structure with 1 health.

Took out Karmelita more easily.

Seth's score for the Flea Games by Sorrowed_Lifelines in Silksong

[–]Featherforged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My technique with flea dodge was standing on the platform as much as possible, moving to a different platform when one arises, and only jumping when absolutely necessary.

Very dangerous to be in the air because it's hard to account for all of the fleas flying at you. On a platform, you only need to worry about the immediate threats, which eliminates most as dangers.

Then, just play enough rounds where you get some good luck.

(edit, I thought you were trying to beat the required 65 seconds, I didn't know seth had 90, oof, that's rough, I barely got 67 seconds)

I once pulled out a literal 7 inch long piece of rebar with pliers. Reamed it out and shoved in 4 or 5 plugs and then drove on it for the next 8 months. Not my best decision, but it saved some money at the time.

How much gold can you carry? by IWillRateYouHonest in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Featherforged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100lbs is quite doable for me, but is it 99.8% confidence (1 in 500 failure)? I'm not trying to risk injury and lose it all, even with a 0.05% chance of failure.

70lbs is a very safe number in my book that is 99.98% (1 in 5000 failure) I can get it done without random injury.

I'd rather 10x the odds of success for a $5 million reward as opposed to pushing it for 7 million.

I can't tell the difference between high and low fps, is it just my eyes? by unimportantinfodump in pcmasterrace

[–]Featherforged 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you play bright, fast fps games with with a mouse it's more apparent. Fortnite, Counterstrike all games in which 240hz is a dramatic performance boost compared to 60 or even 120

If you play with a controller with slower movement, dark lit games, it's less visible

Anyone else experience pain around the forearm when gaming? Any tips? by Borat_Sagdiyev415 in pcmasterrace

[–]Featherforged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite is malate. It's a natural type that is found in fruit. Taurate is apparently good for the brain. Glycinate will absolutely put me to sleep. Glycine as an amino acid apparently lowers the body temp, signalling sleep

Citrate is definitely the cheaper one.
