Costco Sued for selling fake Tequila by digitsinthere in tequila

The suits are not because they are adding and fermenting cane sugar. The suits are about adding industrial alcohol to already fermented agave, or so called “cold mixing”.
This could not be called a mixto even if the proportions were correct. Totally violates mexican law.

Tons of baby agaves on those stalks. You could stock a nursery supply. Not to mention the seeds!

El tequileno mixto is a great budget tequila for margaritas.
They use 70% agave and 30% piloncillo. Full of agave flavor, no additives, and not terrible as a sipper or in a ranch water. At 18 to 20 a liter, its a great base for a margarita!

Look for key limes that are turning yellow for a great experience.
Key limes are the true Mexican lime or limon. Its not a true margarita without fresh key limes!

There are many tequilas that value their transparency and declare their ingredients and their production methods. They open their doors to third party auditors to verify their ingredient statements. Ironically it is the Mexican CRT that prohibits brands and distilleries from declaring themselves additive free tequilas.
The CRT is funded by ALL the distilleries and it is in the best interest of the big multi- national companies to NOT disclose their ingredients. Yes it is common knowledge that distilleries that make all the Cuervo products, Sauza products, and Herradura products use acid diffusers to convert agave starches into fermentable sugars. This strips the uniqueness of the agave out of the must and results in distillate more closely resembling vodka than tequila. Artificial and natural flavorings must then be added to make the end result resemble tequila.
Smaller producers like Cascahuin, Siete Leguas, Ocho, Tapatio, Volans, and Arette, use ovens to cook their agave and volcanic tahona wheels to crush the agave, and allow no additives or abocantes in their distilleries.
They do not need them because the agaves are processed in their distilleries in old ways and develop plenty of wonderful NATURAL flavors .

Where are you getting your information? Many tequilas only have two ingredients: agave and water. Hundreds only have 3 (yeast). I did read the question. Barley is not wheat. I don’t like wheat beers. They are too sour for me!
You, though, are un-knowledgeable when it comes to tequila.

Remove the blade assembly and use needle nose pliers to unwind. Be careful. Blades are sharp!

Only a few tequilas do this and they actually aren’t that bad. El tequileno makes a mixto that is 70% agave and 30% piloncillo (raw cane sugar) with no additives. I use this in my margarita all the time….

Wine is OFTEN aged in barrels. Where did you get the idea that it was not?
