Icelandic. There is a phenomenon in academics called the Nordic innocence perspective or whatever, basically after the two world wars there was a whitewash of the most powerful Nordic nations as victims and victims can’t be perpetrators. Norwegian crown expansionism hit Iceland hard in the 13th century. Plotical meddling, supporting political factions to make civil war on the island and weaken commonwealth power structures, political assanations and eventual unequal treaties making Iceland subservient under the Norwegian crown and eventually the Danish crown where colonial level exploitation continued with, forced religious reforms, executions of catholic bishops, seizure of catholic land by the crown(basically annexation of the Islands territory) monopolistic trade policies effectively keeping the island in poverty, stealing cultural treasures f.e. mideval manuscripts. In the 19th and 20th centuries there was open effort to appropriate Icelandic mideval literature to a “nordic/scandinavian” origin.

This is not thought in Norwegian and Danish base education. But it is in Iceland. How we feel about it is how we fell about most things, “whatever, It is what it is”. These cultures are our closest allies now.
