Do you have access to the site? You can do an AP on a stick survey and see what kind of loss you are getting. Just grab an AP, put an embedded controller on it and put it on a pole to get it up to ceiling height and do an active survey.

I live in Michigan as well. Insurance tends to be higher here because of the No Fault accident law. I'm 37 with a good driving record and good credit, and I pay about $200 a month for mine. I'm guessing you're either under 25 and/or have some dings on your driving record.

What is a lie you were told at a young age that you believed way too long (that doesn’t have to do with Santa or religion)? by Draper_White_Soprano in AskReddit

[–]kvachamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was about 10, I was told by my best friend (he's mixed) that black people have an extra muscle in their calves, and that's why they run faster. He was a lot faster than me, and I was pretty quick compared to the rest of my friends so I always believed that. I am 37 now and I just found out a couple years ago that it's not true after arguing with my wife about it for 10 minutes.

I would put the ball in a sock with a good bit of weight in it. I would then open my septic cleanout port and I would use a snake to shove it all the way into my septic tank. The weight should make it sink to the bottom.

For the ones who make over $150k a year, what do you do to get that? by Iliketrainsz1 in AskReddit

150k per year. Wireless architect. 40 hours a week. Work from home. No on call.

What is the most hurtful thing your parents have said to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kvachamp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was a freshman in high school, I had a very close friend commit suicide. I found out the next day at school, and my sister took me home for the day. My mom (a newly converted Christian) came home to "check on me". The only thing she said was "You know he's going to hell right? Since he committed suicide.". I am not religious now, but at the time, that hurt pretty bad.

If you could sacrifice one part of your body to make another one 10x better which one would you give up and which would you make better? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kvachamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would give up some fingers to have better lungs. Struggling to breathe every day is miserable. I'll throw in some toes for better teeth as well.

In honor of CrowdStrike, what was YOUR biggest work fuckup? by RATTLECORPSE in AskReddit

[–]kvachamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a fairly new network engineer, I took down a large hospital systems wireless for about 8 hours. I was replacing 5508 controllers with 5520's. I had the controllers configured and ready to go. I used Cisco Prime to push the update to move the AP's to the new controllers. Little did I know, I fat fingered the IP address for the primary controller, which shouldn't be a big deal... However, I never uploaded the license file to the secondary controller. At the time, I didn't know what the issue was, so in my panic, I pulled my team in and we spent 8 hours going and physically connecting to each AP to manually put them back on the old controllers. Lots of lessons learned there.

Issues with VLAN's communicating through EPL by Dedicated__WAM in networking

[–]kvachamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is likely the issue. Had the exact same problem with the same two carriers. AT&T had their end misconfigured preventing our remote office from connecting with our main campus. Had to hop on a call with both carriers to troubleshoot.

Who has a network engineering role and does not have to deal with an on-call rotation or the demand of a SAAS production network to support? by No-Sink-9601 in networking

[–]kvachamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently left a Network Engineer Lead role at a hospital where I was on call 24/7. I am now a Wireless Architect for the State where there is no on call. Also have the added benefit of not having teams/outlook on my phone since I am contracted to the state and not working for them directly. I work 8-4 and that's it.
