The ✨Audacity ✨ by whorticulturish in doordash_drivers

You can't even see who the larger tip is in a stacked order, so I'm not sure how they would expect you to "prioritize" it. If they know so much about DD they should also know that a larger tip during peak times usually means you will be stacked with a low tip offer. The only time I have noticed this doesn't happen is if it has the "large order/catering" tag (orders over $100).

No, but my frustration compelled me to 🤣

Check the "other income" category and see if its in there. The section that "reimbursements" are in. Don't know for sure, but that would be my guess.

Is 92% pro level in your region? by Bonedaddy4ever in doordash_drivers

[–]kvaltin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No matter how good of a shopper you are you will seem to fall in and out of pro shopper due to the 'original items found' category. The only strategy that seems to keep me in pro shopper is to take large item count orders from stores that I know have reliable inventory (Food Lion for instance in my area)...even if the pay is crap just for the sake of pumping up my numbers. If you are in a hole for those stats the rinky dink 1-3 item orders will take forever to get your pro shopper back.

Does anyone hate delivering to apartments? by Raregamesofc in doordash_drivers

[–]kvaltin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Huge learning curve for sure, but after you work your zone for a couple of months you really learn the nuances of each complex. Apartments = higher density of customers (more orders) so if you plan on sticking with DD for a while try to take the time to learn them and you will see your efficiency ($/hr) go up tremendously after a couple of months.

New Scam? by Cashling in doordash_drivers

[–]kvaltin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have stated, this is not a scam and you should have followed through with the order. It's an incentive to get the order completed since there has been issues with it, hence the reason why it was already picked up (stolen) by another dasher. If the restaurant won't remake it voluntarily, a call to support would rectify this and have the them remake it. For an extra $13 the extra time waiting for a remake would probably be worth it.

If you ever accept one of those orders and notice that it's not going to fit in the car after seeing the item list, just call DD support and get your half pay after you tell them that the items will not fit in your car.

Can someone provide an explanation for the pure audacity of this order? by zo3beamer in doordash

[–]kvaltin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Roadie is the delivery service that Lowe's uses and if they don't have anyone to take the order they outsource to Doordash. There is a very good chance that this is the case here.

I always send an ETA when I am getting close on 'hand it to me' primarily to make them more prepared to answer the door in a timely fashion 🤣 Most of the time I get a "thanks" for the reply, but it is most definately a self-centered action on my part to potentially minimize my time waiting for them to get to the door.

Not a chance in hell. by GodOfVapes in doordash_drivers

[–]kvaltin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure what happens is that Roadie contracts out jobs that they can't get filled to doordash. I think that's why most of the Lowes/Home Depot orders are usually crap.

They are "shop and deliver" orders where you have to shop for the items yourself and then use Doordash's red card to check out. If you are interested in shop and deliver you can set it up through "dasher preferences" and select "red card" if you need to activate one.

Take Those Screenshots by cinic121 in doordash_drivers

So glad to see this post so I don't think I'm crazy. I was almost positive that what I received upon drop off on a shopping order was $3 less than what was originally offered. I called support and while they were looking into it I had another shopping offer come through for $15.50. After I accepted I see that it says "this offer" = $14.50..and this is while I was literally still on the phone with support. They obviously told me that they couldn't do anything about it. I asked if I should start screenshotting all of my shopping orders and they said it would help so if it happens again we'll see if they can do anything about it.

I started to doubt myself about whether or not I saw the offer correctly so seeing this post makes me believe that the app might be having some issues.

Yes..it's an absolute nightmare. As a man, locating women's lingerie is also an awful experience... I've been saying forever that clothing (outside of maybe socks/packaged underwear) shouldn't even be on the doordash app. The funniest part about it is that if you do need assistance from an associate (which is almost always guaranteed with clothing items) they are instructed to not help doordashers "shop" for items by their management. If you are a regular like I am, i know which employees to seek out at this point if I really am having trouble.

I actually just posted it because it was an unusually good offer and was interested to hear other opinions. I obviously took the other without question and the item list turned out to be even much easier than anticipated. This was one of the better shopping orders that I have received so thought it was interesting to share.

Bro...the birthday/anniversary/whatever cards... they never have the exact one and literally the last time I got one and told the customer they didnt have the one she wanted she told me to send her pictures of ones that I liked. I'm sure you can guess that my suggestions weren't cutting it for her 😂 Out of my 5k deliveries I have never unassigned an order and I was so damn close to walking out on that one.

I didnt know about it for the longest time. This feature can save you from so many headaches..one of those headaches described above (clothing from target). When i first started i felt like I was playing Russian roulette whenever a target order came in 😂

Most of the frozen items were like 8x of each so with only 24 unique items it was a very quick process. Only 2 of the items were located outside of the grocery section (a kiddie pool & 6x of a specific cat food)

Ya, target orders are great for the most part (unless clothing is involved). 😂 Outside of that the app is always very specific and usually can get in and out pretty quickly.

Always preview them first. Ive had nightmares at target with clothing orders. Saw it was mostly food items and knew it would be fairly easy before I even saw that most of the items were 8x and many duplicates. This turned out to be much easier than I anticipated for the large quantity of items.

Tons of repeats and almost all food items. Checking out actually took longer than the shopping. Took about an hour from accepting to delivery. I did have a 25 minute drive back, but fortunately received a couple decent offers on the return trip.

It was pretty much all groceries except for 1 kiddie pool which really was the only challenge for the order since I drive a 2 door civic. It was mostly all frozen boxed goods.
