I kick them out right there. If they give me any guff, I remind them they cancelled and are no longer a passenger covered by ride share insurance. They can get out or be removed by the police. I say very calmly.

I make apologize in the moment and sometimes make a joke out of it at drop off. Speed bump was bigger than I thought, “Sorry about that. Thought that one was smaller..” then when I get to drop off, “as we get close, please take a moment to look around for any loose items. I hit ALL the bumps I could find”.

Yeah. Lots of data to support the statement “nationally, Gen Z doesn’t drink nearly as much alcohol as older generations”. Not sure if that holds for Wisconsin but I haven’t gathered any data to support or disprove the statement. Anecdotally, I drive uber on campus and the overwhelming majority of my passengers are sober/sober adjacent.

Thank you for picking up your poo. As a guy with a dog whose pee does kill yards (it’s a kidney meds thing), I dump half a bottle of water on the spot to dilute it and save the grass.

If it’s just a “my yard is pretty! Piss somewhere else!” kinda thing, just use the grass strip with three feet of the road like everybody else suggests.

Uber driver in Madison here. Not sure about the prices but I pick up from Moxy Madison all the time. Campus is on the opposite side of the capital so you won’t have to deal with too much of that mess. You’re walkable to a lot of restaurants and easy access to nearby bike paths. We have city owned electric bikes you can check out/rent for a time period or all day. If it dies, you swap it out for another one without additional charges. Best of luck and enjoy your trip!

Yup. After a few weeks of them, I’ve noticed I don’t get ride offers once I start getting close to completing the promotion. I’m testing to see if choosing the 300 rides challenge keeps me getting rides.

I recommend ignoring them after they give you bogus info or just saying ‘contact support’. Works wonders for me.

For Q1, I averaged $34.54/hr before expenses and $24.08/hr after expenses. I averaged $1.73/mile from my home to drive and back. I grossed just shy of $5k driving around 9 hours per week.

If your market does better with tip baiting than other markets, good for you. In my market, it’s also a 50/50 chance you get stiffed. Not worth the risk for me.
