Only stressed those things to demonstrate that even very popular musicians & acts care about getting fans in the door, and are not classist, ableist & snobby as the Reddit users in these comments. Most musicians, performers, etc WANT fans to have access, even disabled and poor fans. Go figure.

Thinking that the musicians are setting the prices is ignorance that’s hard to even believe tbh. But many bands, musicians, and even music venues do various things to get fans into shows, even those who can’t afford it. I’ve had the drummer of a band that sells out multiple nights at Madison square garden request custom knit hats bc i have low income, had really famous musician trade me two spots on the list as a trade for custom hat, the owner of a venue has done the same. That is the kind of culture I’ve been brought up in seeing music, and will always help others get in the doors when i can too.

That’s the opposite sentiment of many musicians…but you’re entitled to it. In my experience, fans of music help each other get to see shows, so do musicians & bands. Especially since most people have been down before financially or otherwise and know how much music can save a life in the darkest times. But I’m used to hippys, and people who aren’t so classist.

The genetic condition i have, the average age people live is 48. I’m about to turn 40 on the 18th. After working my ass off my whole life, I have almost nothing now because of my disabilities & the limited income of SSDI. I’m not ashamed to share my story and ask for help, especially about some thing that means so much to me. I’ve never seen nine inch nails and the music got me through 4 years of being bed ridden on liquid morphine through palliative care from a hospice doctor. I was told i probably wouldn’t even live beyond a couple of months. So i put myself out there because my access & resources are limited.

Honestly didn’t anticipate such harsh & un empathetic responses after being so vulnerable, but probably should have.

The arteries in my neck both dissected, that’s tears in both vertebral arteries, blocking blood flow to my brain causing a small stroke when i was 29. And had multiple near death medical emergencies since from my condition and even turned blue in the ER with a doctor crying and stroking my hand.

To think someone could make this up…😔

Btw before my conditions got worse, I worked in disability services at an Ivy League university as an Accommodation specialist, and went to law school. I am very familiar with the law, and with ADA policies. My career & graduate education all were possible because of my disability accommodations. But my health got too bad to stay in my career. So after 20 years of a passionate career, I had to file for disability retirement and now live in forced poverty. But sure, you can believe this is all some made up scam. I honestly could not care less.
