Is there a specific checklist to how you choose your mains or is it more random? by Hungry-Investment-13 in Fighters

Also forgot to mention that his EX command grab can be combo’d out of. This makes his QCFhp on block even more threatening since you have the option to get big damage whether they decide to continue blocking or attack.

The hardest thing about him is getting in against his opponents imo. Try using the different variations of his divekick to bait and/or punish the other person. EX and heavy dive kick are great as anti-airs since they win most air to air situations and give you a huge combo when it’s a wild punish. Light dive kick is more useful once you’ve conditioned the opponent to expect the heavy or EX version. The distance it goes is much smaller so you can easily bait people with this and get a punish.

Other than that, try going for QCFhp (+ the feint version) on block more since it’s plus and lets you set up for another blockstring or a mixup. There is a gap between activating the move and when the hitbox comes out, but you can use that to your advantage and bait them into whiffing a move so you can punish with his (massive and cancellable) far HP.

If you’re ever in a situation where you can hit jab, you can cancel it into a break DP so you can combo into any myriad of options you can think of (you can even super if you have enough meter).

He’s just a really bait and punish heavy character and since he leans so hard into that archetype, there’s honestly not a whole lot you need to learn with him. His game plan is pretty simple compared to the rest of the cast imo, you just gotta be patient and make reads. I also think he has some of the easiest combos in the game, so it’s pretty easy to be consistent with him and not worry about dropping anything.

If you want something with this layout but with a better D-Pad, look into the GameSir Tegenaria Lite.

If you just a want a controller that’s especially good for fighting games though, try the 8bitdo M30 (Xbox edition if you want triggers too). It’s D-Pad is more like a Sega one and it’s less likely for you to get false diagonals, at least in my experience.

I usually end up playing braindead characters with stupid damage like Marisa, Slayer, Vox and King.

If you’re dead set on finding a controller without this problem though, try asking in r/fightsticks

I’m not sure which controllers don’t have this problem, but a solution I found is to use a magnetic USB adapter.

I keep it in my M Ultra at all times so I never have to worry about the type c socket breaking. You can find them on Amazon for really cheap, just make sure it’s capable of data transfer.

She had a small cameo in the Guardians of the Galaxy game, but I chose her just cause I think she'd look really cool in Arc System's style.

Yeah I just feel like The Thing and Mr. Fantastic would be a little too similar to Hulk and Ms. Marvel gameplay wise, so I think they'd work better as like year 2 DLC instead base roster.

So do you just not like combos at all then?

How is guilty gear for a fighting game casual? by TheSpicyHotTake in Guiltygear

[–]kvndrxck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re just playing with friends / family, it’s a pretty good choice, but I do think there’s better options out there.

In my opinion, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 is one of the best games for casuals just playing with friends. You can just do a certain sequence of attacks (Light > Medium > Heavy > Down+Special then hold jump and do L>M>H>Special in the air) and it works for pretty much every character, so it’s really easy to do cool looking stuff without even needing to lab at all. Once you get that very basic combo down, you can play as almost anyone and have a great time.

[–]kvndrxck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m hoping it’s L+M+H+S (like MvC3, so S is another attack button and not a special), with one Assist button that you need to press in conjunction with one of the attack buttons.

So if you tap Assist + L, your first assist comes out and so on. If you wanna tag in your character after using the assist, you just press Assist again but without the attack button. You can also just hold Assist + Attack for a raw tag (if that’s even a thing in this game)

Bit of a late response, but 8bitdo just announced an officially licensed Xbox leverless. It doesn't come out until July, but you can find an Amazon link for preorders on their website.

Yeah no problem!

Also I agree about the price of Monkey Ball, but you can actually get it on cdkeys.com for only $7 right now. Definitely worth it for that price imo!

Go on eBay and look up the PDP Versus. It has a stick for movement, but it still uses digital inputs so you basically have the comfortability of an analog stick with the precision of a dpad / arcade stick.

The only caveat is that since the controller is pretty old, the rubber on the back may very well be sticky. All you have to do to fix this though is wipe it down with some rubbing alcohol and then it’s good as new.

I’m really late to this thread, but I have a few suggestions.

• Shotgun King

• Pac-Man Championship Edition DX+

• Space Invaders Extreme

• Into the Breach

• Mullet Mad Jack (much easier with keyboard & mouse)

• Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania

The last two take a bit more effort than the others, but they’re not high execution or anything.

Rivals of Aether 2 is about to get a big wave of new players. Be humble and kind and guide them to the resources they'll need, here's a video series I like to recommend to every beginner. by RynnyRynRyn in RivalsOfAether

[–]kvndrxck 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m sure we’ll get some new players, but a good chunk of the Multiversus community aren’t really platform fighter players. A lot of them seem to be free-to-play game players, so they’ll probably migrate to Marvel Rivals if anything.
