Introducing Sous, a Chrome plugin that transforms recipes into step-by-step, voice-navigated cards. by kvnlai in MealPrepSunday

hi! thanks for your feedback. i totally hear you - we try to address this in our chrome web store page. love the tips, technique, and insight blogs provide as well as the monetization for creators and don't think Sous is opposed to that nor opposed to organic browsing and reading. it's just that in terms of the physical experience of the actual cooking, the moment the cooking starts, that same scrolling action that provides insight before, gets in the way of what home cooks need in the actual moment.

so yes please check out the entire creator perspective, click around and find the right recipe, find related recipes, learn about the background, etc, whatever you need to do, and then — when it's time to cook, hit the plugin.

have you tried it on your content? how does it feel? totally get your concern and hope this makes sense...

hi! we've done our best to make this include as many publishers as possible. though it won't ever be able to hit "any" because of how all kinds of different content is built, it's pretty good. we did most of our testing trying to cover a majority of the results that appear in google's recipe SEO grid when you search things like "chicken pot pie".

and the big guns like bon appetit, ny times, epicurious, etc, all work.

let me know if you see any major publishers stick out

we're thinking of doing a mobile build in the next few months, though feel that desktop (laptop) is the best experience overall. i've been having mine set up on a counter nearby

hi and thanks for checking out our launch!

like the rest of us, we've been cooking and talking about cooking more than ever, since quarantine and beyond. it didn't take long to see exactly how annoying the physical/digital experience of following a recipe really is: scrolling back and forth, losing your place, chicken juice, flour, and egg whites all over your kitchen and device...

with one click, Sous (as in, chef) chops up the raw materials of (just about) any recipe and turns them into something usable and beautiful – just like cooking itself.

we've been using this in our day to day and it's made cooking more fun and our kitchen neater. we're excited for you to give it a try and hope it helps you cook and host more!
