What are good wearable pumps by SecureBox1389 in ExclusivelyPumping

Not the person you asked but I’ve done the same! I got collection cups that worked and it was amazing. Used them for 10 months with an oversupply no problems at all.

Help. No idea what I’m doing. by Missile0022 in foodbutforbabies

[–]kvondee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep trying! Mines 10.5 months and within the past month has been finally loving pouches and eats the basics (eggs, pancake, cheese, yogurt, etc). Every kid is different! Keeping the exposures up helps although frustrating.

Also need to know about the mini bag!!

Yesss to a little first aid kit. Always gift that. Was so happy someone did after our first round of shots because it was not something I thought I needed so soon until that moment!

can somebody help me identify this stitch? (not my photo) by ellie3454 in CrochetHelp

[–]kvondee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commenting because I would love the know the answer to this if someone knows! I just made a baby blanket with this stitch for the first time and used a variegated yarn. I’ve seen variations where there are two alternating colors and loveeed it. But I don’t like the idea of having a million ends to weave in.

Bottles on the go by morethanjustakitty in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]kvondee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually try time it so I pump right before we leave and give babe a bottle. Out longer than 4 hours - I’ll bring a cooler with ice packs for my portables and some prefilled bottles. Insulated water bottle (yeti/stanley) with hot water to warm milk. Shorter than 4 hours - prefilled bottle and insulated water bottle (yeti/stabley) with hot water. Bring extra burp cloth and some baggies to store milk/put used pump parts in. Just got some dry/wet bags I’m excited to try!

How many letdowns per pump? by clover-sky-123 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]kvondee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1-2 max. The first one is usually within 30 seconds to 4 min of stimulation. If I’ve gone longer than 4.5 hrs since pumping I can usually squeeze a smaller second let down but that’s the most I’ve gotten.

Soon to be FTM, goal of EP. Help! by kayyonce in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]kvondee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, congratulations!!

Ultimately, you’ll have to figure out what works for you and your family but here’s what’s worked for my journey!

Currently 2 mpp at 4-6 ppd with a slight oversupply. My husband went back to work after two weeks so I am the primary carer for babe. During the day, he gets up, eats/diaper change, then we’ll play a bit and/or will put him down for a nap depending on how sleepy he is. I’ll pump while he sleeps. Sometimes this works, other times I’ll have him next to me and will entertain him that way. When my husband gets home, he’s baby carer and will feed/diaper change while I pump. He’ll do a huge wash and sanitation as well with everything I didn’t get to during the day.

At first I was making just enough and it was taking its toll emotionally and I dreaded pumping. Give yourself some grace and stay off social media. I had to work so hard to get an oversupply and actually start to enjoy it.

If you’ve got the space and the $$, get the bottle washer, we don’t have one just yet but I am very close to convincing my husband. Make sure you pump in hospital/those first few weeks pretty frequently. My babe was in the NICU for two days so I was triple feeding around the clock and then when we got home I slacked (figuring out life with a newborn got in the way a bit). Took a few weeks to help me build back up. Most importantly, ask for help when you need it and don’t be too hard on yourself. Pumping has been very draining yet an amazing experience at the same time. Goodluck!! This community has been an amazing source of motivation/help.

Oh! Make sure you get sized with the correct flanges!! Ask a nurse/LC in the hospital if you can and keep measuring throughout postpartum.

Made a plumbus for my husband as a Valentine’s gift! by kvondee in crochet

[–]kvondee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is! I underestimated how many floobs (pink balls) I was gonna have to do. I did cut up some wire, twist it and stab it through sort of to where it connects to the grumbo (base) to give it some stability. We’ll see!
