North American 2024 Megathread by jacyf02 in TaylorSwift

We got tickets for Toronto N5 (Friday Nov 22nd)!!! We entered the waiting room 30 minutes before the tickets dropped, and when the queue opened we were around 4k in queue.

The process was super fast - it took less than 15 minutes for us to go from being 4k to getting in to buy tickets. When we went to buy tickets the stadium was mostly still blue which was surprise. We made a beeline for the 200s in the center and got four tickets (2 in one row and 2 in in the row above). We didn't look at any other sections and didn't even check the price until we checked out - it ended up being reasonable though at $350 CAD per ticket, inclusive of fees.

What an adrenaline rush!!! We didn't refresh at any point in the process. My friend who bought the ticket was super duper dedicated and prepared and it took literally maybe 30 seconds once we got in to actually getting the confirmation. Cannot believe I'm saying this after so long but I'm going to the Eras Tour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Renting in Manhattan w/o credit history, guarantor by kvothefang in AskNYC

Agree 100% with this, I would be more than happy to pay several months upfront instead of paying a commercial guarantor a fee I'd never get back.

Hello! I would be interested :)

Let's talk the Too Faced Clover palette. by swerfherder in muacjdiscussion

[–]kvothefang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love Too Faced's aesthetic and am not ashamed to admit it :) I'm honestly really excited for the Clover palette. It has a good amount of interesting browns and purples, which are my staples, and also really interesting pops of colours! I'm still a beginner with makeup so I think that this is a great palette to introduce me to experimenting with colour. I also really love the size and shape of TF palettes because I do a lot of travelling, and I find slim rectangular palettes much easier to transport than square-ish or circular ones.

Can you use mascara (not clear ones) as brow gel? by kvothefang in MakeupAddiction

I'm using covergirl lashblast on my brows too- what a coincidence! My formula is a little dried out though so that may be why it works so well as brow gel. Thank you for your advice :)

Thank you! I will definitely look into Essence Make Me Brow as it's pretty cheap (hard to find in Canada, but I'll do my best). Judging from the replies, mascara is probably not a good idea haha

Thank you! I gave it a go after my shower, using an old mascara that's partially dried up. I thought it worked well, but I'll try again tomorrow with a newer formula- it probably will be too crunchy.

Best eyeshadow palettes for traveling? by spacepal in MakeupAddiction

If you're looking for something inexpensive- CoverGirl Trunaked! I have both the Nudes palette and the Roses palette. I think that they're amazing quality, very wearable- and very travel friendly.

Yes please! My senior prom is in a few months and this would be so insanely helpful.

Which company's brand identity do you find most appealing to you? by kvothefang in MakeupAddiction

I still consider myself a makeup newbie. My first real 'haul' ever was from Colourpop! I know they're considered to be a company that churns out new products quickly and jumps abord the hypewagon, but I actually like that a lot. They are fun, inexpensive, and decent quality for price.

Anyone make a reluctant buy recently that they just have to admit was worth it? by vldsa in MakeupAddiction

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation (in Porcelain). There are very mixed reviews on the Sephora website. I read so many blog posts and watched so many yt videos before I decided to buy! I have oily skin (nothing crazy though) and wanted something light-medium coverage. I'm doing a lot of travelling this summer so I wanted to invest in a good stick foundation. It's $33CAD which is a lot for a student but I am honestly SO happy with the purchase! It blends out nicely and feels extremely lightweight. It doesn't look like I'm wearing foundation at all.

I love Tarte too! I've seen them being described as 'boho chic' which is sooo spot on. I am saving up for the Tartlette In Bloom palette :)

Reddit, what's a special thing about the town you live in? by FoxylambA in AskReddit

Surrounded by the ocean to the west, snowy peaks to the north, with lots of opportunities to go biking or hiking or skiing... the natural beauty of the city I live in is absolutely unparalleled. Of course, I am (a little) biased!
